This was the easiest year to win a Championship

Jan 11, 2022, 9:57 AM

And that's what stinks about us not fielding an offense. It was out there for the taking. There was no real dominant team in comparison to previous years. This Alabama team was gettable about as gettable as they've been. Their Running Back was pedestrian, where they usually have dominant runners or 2 or 3 dominant runners. That team we last beat had Jacobs, Najee Harris, and Damien Harris on the same freaking team as well as Jalen Waddle, Jerry Jeudy and Devonta Smith and we blew them out by 28 pts. Even though B.Young was formidable and had good stats this year, he wasn't dominant, at least i didn't think he was. They didn't have a ton of weapons at WR as they have in years past.

UGA was i guess the closest thing to being worthy. But their offense wasnt' much to contend with and could be shut down. Their defense was good and the closest thing of any team out there that could be considered dominant but a deshaun watson type offense where the Qb has the ability to pick them apart could score points. The fact that their offense was average in terms of championship quality puts them in the average championship level teams by comparison. OSU had no defense, Michigan doesn't know what to do yet, PAC 12 was who we thought they were, BIG 12 did their usual thing, ACC was non existent, and Notre Dame well are always posers. IT was WIDE open for an easy one.

It was just a blah year for college football. The Heisman the championship..all of it. Had we had a 50th ranked offense i believe it would have been cruise control. Our defense was good enough to get us there even with all the injuries. Congrats UGA for taking advantage and not blowing it during the season like we're accustomed to seeing you do for the last 25 years. You somehow didnt' drop that usual game in columbia sc or missouri.

Hopefully we go from worst to first in offense next year and Mr. Goodwin keeps us on track.

All we needed was average QB play...that's all we lacked to be in the playoffs.

Sure, we had some other areas of weakness, but our D was so good that with average QB play we could have overcome them.

But, we weren't close to average at QB.

Nope. Just about every stat has our qb at or near the bottom of the list. Top priority in 2022.

Spot on.
True, every team has to deal with some adversity and the ball has to bounce your way. UGA had their adversity early season. Had some key injuries for our game... Which is a lot of luck on their part that this happened to be our down year. They were fortunate not to have major players injured and played as weak a schedule as we did. Perhaps weaker.

Now, as for Bama. They lost 3 running backs during the year. They were young and had little depth on D, and lost 2 linebackers. But very unlucky last night to have lost their 2 starting CB's and both their star WR's since they drubbed uga in sec title game.
