Thoughts on what Wesco brings based in his film

His player comp is supposedly CeeDee Lamb (I wish), but I'm not sure if I see that. To me he looks like a jump ball guy. I don't see a ton of speed from him on tape, but he looks like he can win those 50/50 balls with his track jumper skills. I would say his comp would be more like Mike Williams, but he isn't nearly as big as Mike at 6'2 and only 170 lbs. He clearly needs to get bigger and stronger so being a mid-year will help. He could eventually be a player for us, but expecting it year 1 might be a expecting too much. Personally, I expect more immediate impact from Moore since he's more if a deep threat guy.

CUEng is right, he is not a blazer and I've watched a lot of his film, but he does look to be the 1st guy we have signed since Higgins and maybe Ross that can high-point and win 50-50 balls.

Now, you don't have to be a burner to be a great player. CeeDee Lamb isn't a burner either. But you gotta call a spade a spade and not be delusional. He's not going to take the top off defenses.

You don’t have to be a blazer to have “speed” several catches in his film where he takes short passes to the house outrunning defenders. Majority of the guys his size aren’t “blazers”

He plays with elite competition and seems like a game breaker to me. Glad to have he and Moore. Will change the complexion of our offense.

Here’s the thing though. He’s yet to play a college down though. I’ve seen too many highly touted recruits over the years not pan out so I don’t want to get too excited. As excited as I am, I’m taking the waiting and hoping approach here.

Cee dee lamb is a pretty good comp.although he's not a blazer He has elite ball skills, and change of direction for his size.

I just watched his film from his junior year in high school. He looks impressive to me and enough speed to leave defenders in his dust. He knows how to create separation. So I’m excited to see him play. Wesco, welcome to Clemson and Merry Christmas.
