Bad as it was we were 1 play from being right in that game

The pick 6 should’ve been a TD for us. Not sure if Ngata was supposed to stop or DJ threw a lousy pass but it easily could’ve been 21-14 not 28-7. Snowballed from there.

Two straight games with a 14-point swing play - crazy!

No way the receiver should have stopped, since he was "behind" the defensive back. He (I thought it wsa AW0, but maybe it was JN10) was just coming open, but DJU had already released the ball. That 1/4 second made a huge difference.

Yea, and if a frog... We( as in yes it is the team we all pull for) were never in this game and we came out showing it by reverting back to the good old days of Rob Spence bubble screens. And just like then they didn't work.
But I will not fault the players for this one. Our coaching staff did not have us ready for them.

No, even if the opening kick off was the one play you’re referring to, our guys were flat out not ready to play that game. Not a single play issue. Extremely bad coaching, preparation, game plan and play calling. Imo, we weren’t mentally prepared to be in that game. Dabo saying they had a great week of practice makes me question how much of an echo chamber has been created in that locker room. We got dominated physically, the entire game. The play you’re referring to was big in terms of ND’s margin of victory, but the block punt returned for 6 set the stage and we did nothing to materially change the momentum of that game.

It was 21-0 when ND got the pick 6

Three really bad plays

Nov 6, 2022, 7:18 AM

Blocked punt with an olay play from the middle protector
Interception deep in our territory
Pick six

Those were the worst, but the rest of the night was bad too.

Hard to win when the opposition is given 3 touchdowns. Even harder when the entire team gets an ### kicking.
