to becoming an elite team/program. They have to understand that, against other elite teams, they have to remain focused each and every play, cannot take a play off or FSU, etc will make them pay. They have the pitching and they can play good enough defense to be very, very good.

All that being said, FSU had 3 errors, that's the only reason Clemson scored 2 runs, otherwise, it's another shutout loss. But, the difference is that FSU has speed, experience and confidence at that level.

As I've said, I don't think they hit well enough as a team to be elite but maybe that will improve. Not to call any specific player out but, dont understand your "designated player" being a small slap hitter batting .300. FSU's DP was a thicker girl batting .369, 9 homers, etc. Really think that's a hole the coaches need to fill with a better and stronger player, but maybe that's the best they have right now? Got to recruit better if so.

Now that they've been shown that they arent the biggest and baddest, let's see if they respond with renewed focus and fire. I think that will happen and while I still dont think they have the bats to be elite, they can continue to be very good and, who knows, maybe next time, they make FSU pay for not being perfect themselves.

Not sure why JoJo isn't batting more, unless I missed that she's hurt. No, she doesn't have power but she was on fire to start the season as far as getting hits. But we're not at practice. Or at least I'm not.

That said, last night while encouraging in the fact we found two runs, it's the fact that we have yet been able to hit any good pitcher over several seasons. Difference is fsu found 2 games where different hitters were able to get to our best pitching.

As you stated, we have the pitching, we have the defense to be elite, now the hitting.
