Tigertown Graphics

Was on campus this past weekend and swung into Tigertown Graphics to pick up a couple t-shirts for gifts. But what to my wandering eyes did appear, but ridiculously overpriced t-shirts! Is it just me being old and reminiscing about the good ol' days when you could buy a t-shirt for $9.99 or is $25.99 crazy expensive for a short-sleeved t-shirt?? Others were $27.99. I found a "cheaper" one. They have a great selection - I really like all their options. But I spent over $50 for two t-shirts.... Are the others on campus that expensive? Knickerbocker's in Greenville wasn't, the last time I looked, but it's been a while - since pre-inflation....

Why doesn't inflation impact my paycheck? Thats stayed the same. Bc Inflation is a scam to price gouge.
People should refuse to pay. See how fast inflation goes away.

Around 25 to 35 bucks has been the going rate for them for some time now even before recent inflation.

I have seen clearance racks sometimes where you can get older styles for cheaper but that's probably in the off season I guess.

I was in Clemson a month ago and checked out shirts in several stores, and all are expensive. I'll be back in early January and hope to finds some good deals.

Went to the Esso Club last week to get my brother a hat for his birthday. Hats were $32 but they had a decent looking T-shirt for $20. Go figure.

I use to work for them. Great atmosphere. A true local startup business. It's sad they had to close doors to the Greenville Location (Southern Fried Cotton)

Do any of you know approx what % goes to licensing?

I know that accounts for a decent chunk of any licensed merchandise. Is it a flat rate or a percentage or what?

Usually there is a one-time fee for licensing that guarantees a time frame to market the products and then there is a percentage of each sell on top. That percentage is based on projected total revenue. Sometimes they even make you guarantee that percentage of total revenue but they often will lower the percentage if its a guaranteed revenue. The percentages used to be 7-13%. Usually for the one-time licensing fee you only get like 3-5 approved graphics. If you want more it costs more. But that is why you see graphics and designs change on an annual basis.
My buddy worked in licensing as his company sold all different gadgets and knick-knacks from multiple different top brands like Coke, John Deere, Universities, etc. Some of the crazy requirements for some brands was absolutely crazy.
