Why would anyone think winning the ACC is not important - unless you like playing on the road after losing momentum I guess.

Depending on when you open play, you potentially play four straight days leading into your regional next week. Some coaches become extremely conservative in using there pitchers in a conference tourney. No one is trying to lose. But you may put your starters on a pitch count. Or you may leave a middle reliever in a little longer than you might would have to save some other arms.
