Consistent excellent play from here on out? That’s the question.

It was a great win. Monumental, not sure about that. Monumental from the standpoint of winning in Chappell hill. But upsets happen every night in bball. Nature of the game.
Timing. Happens more in bball perhaps more than any other team sport. We're a good team, make no mistake. But 3 things were huge contributors to this win. 1. Hall was on a mission, 2. UNC just beat Duke Saturday which is really the be all, end all for them, 3. (And the biggest reason we won) is trimble? Tribble, didn't play and he absolutely shut down jg3 in Clemson. No way we win if he's playing.
Sometimes it's just that simple. Loss at home, hall/jg3 - 15 points , last night hall/jg3 46 points. Like last year, nc st was a pretty good team but they couldn't mztch up with us for nothing.

I agree with about everything that always has said, or at least it makes sense to me. The thing that grinds my grits more than about anything that happens with this team is that they are a good team when they are playing to be good, BUT, they are playing pretty chitty when they blow a 16 point lead. IMPO, we have seen leads like that go away bc of guys just getting way to comfortable and being way to careless with the ball and creating their own turnovers.
Then there is those guys that are trying to get way to pretty throwing up shots that they know are low percentage shots that it would have been a miracle for one of them to have made it through the net. IMO Brownell should have a team rule that when guys are consistently throwing up low percentage and missing them again and again, put them on the side lines with him until they can learn to play team ball by passing it to the other guys that's maybe in a better position to shoot the high percentage shots, and stop throwing the ball up allowing our opponents to take away the lead that they worked hard to get...

How is it not monumental?

We haven't beaten many top 5 teams in our basketball history, especially on the road.
The fact that it was a hot UNC team, ranked #3 in the nation, at their place, makes this arguably the best win we've had in program history.

I would have to disagree with you on one particular point you made, but I think it is the most important. Last night was not just a monumental win. It was historic. Upsets happen in any and all sports, just as you stated, but they never seemed to happen in Chapel Hill when Clemson is playing. That was certainly true for the first 66 seasons of ACC existence. In those 66 seasons, Clemson LOST 59 times in 59 tries. That is bad. That’s historically awful. Heck, just the law of averages probably would have had Clemson win at least one freakish time in 50 tries, much less 59! However, not Clemson. The streak was so long it became not just a regional, but a national punchline. On more than one occasion, the SEC propaganda ministry (ESPN) would nationally televise seemingly for that reason alone. So, even when a mediocre Clemson team did finally manage to beat a bad UNC team in 2020, it was still a BIG deal. However, last night was even bigger, but why is that the case, for which now I will suggest?
The first thing about last night was a good Clemson team (and I agree with you on that point as well) was coming off their THIRD loss, by 3 points or less, in their last five games played. And, those losses were ALL last second or OT games. Two of them were literally lost at the proverbial buzzer. Two of them were also in Littlejohn. That’s the perfect recipe for the epic and total collapse on such a promising season. Another loss last night would have been devastating, and highly likely, a back breaker.
Secondly, this wasn’t one of those exceptionally rare and VERY bad UNC team like the one from the 2019-2020 basketball season. UNC has only had about 4-5 such teams in the least 50+ years. Quite the contrary, this UNC squad could easily be a Final Four team with have a very legitimate chance of winning the national title. The UNC team from last night was the #3 ranked team in the nation, and had only lost once in their previous 12 games. Clemson beat a UNC team like that. An excellent one. In miss that.
Furthermore, didn’t the former Tiger SID and radio color man, Tim Bourret tweet out that was the highest ranked road win for Clemson since 1976? That’s almost 47 years. Think about that. Only one time in virtually 50 years. However, and I’m sorry to keep going back to this, even with all that, this was in Chapel Hill, the literal Clemson house of horrors.
No matter how you look at it, last night was historic for Clemson, and I hope all Clemson fans can appreciate just how out of the realm of normalcy last night was for our Tigers. As I’ve already mentioned, this is just my opinion after 35+ years of Clemson Tiger basketball fandom. You certainly made solid and plausible points with your post, and I understand how some Tiger fans, like yourself, might view last night the way you described. I just hope you won’t. Go Tigers! Have a safe and blessed day.

Only reason we won is because a bench olayer didnt play. Lmao. Terrible take.
If that's the case, then we would be undefeated if we had jack clark and hemenway all year.

Conveniently omitted the part where the refs tried to give the game to heels

When the guy obviously fouled Chase Hunter, but the ball bounced off Chase out of bounds. Heels get ball and immediately drain game-tying 3 pointer.
Miracle we came back after that and closed it out.
