At least it wasn’t to Bama or UGA.

We have elite talent already at the position. He would have been a great addition, I almost feel like he won’t play a down of college football though.

Not a huge loss because listening to him, no doubt he is going to play pro baseball. Will never take a snap at Ole Miss.

I hope he does play college football for Ole Miss. We'll never see him since we're not playing in the Birmingham Bowl every year. But he can tenderize Bama for us.

Or at the least split his time. So I wish him luck and am glad we won't have to deal with any potential drama related to all that.

would've been awesome to have him, but a lot of flight risk. Wish him the best in whatever road he chooses

For what it's worth we are fine at the running back position (loaded). My gut also tells me he may opt out of college football for MLB. We move on!! GO TIGERS!!

A good kid ... or TE and Dabo don’t offer. Wish him the best and Tigers will be fine.
Ole Miss may lose the game, but they never lose the party. But this kid seems too busy to party.

Ole Miss promised him the world. Promised him he’d start on ole miss baseball and football day 1. He is a good kid but Dabo doesn’t make those promises and fam wanted him to stay home too.
I read an interview he did over a year ago and he all but said he wanted to be the guy... every down guy. But agree, that 5 mil will be hard to turn down and I hope for sake he’ll only take it if they put him on a team w pay and not the farm system or he’ll never see his family.
Good luck but I’m actually happy he didn’t choose us. Too much drama.

I find it hard to understand that decision, unless he plans to skip college and go play baseball. He'll never play for a real contending football team at Ole Miss, but maybe he will give 'bama fits.

Ever think that he may want the added challenge of playing for the woeful home-state school ? Huh ? No ... you only think about Clemson winning championships

I like better and those are the guys we'll need with Feaster and possibly ETN leaving after the 2019 season.

a year or so. But dabo likes his guys to play and graduate to keep those graduation numbers up. this guy would have undoubtedly counted against that number. No way he stay a full 3/4 years and graduate.

Thanks fo considering Clemson Jerrion Ealy
Feb 6, 2019, 1:38 PM

I believe if he was choosing to go to college and play football/baseball he would have been a Tiger. Dabo wants guys who are all-in and he and his family knew he was likely to go play baseball unless he wasn’t picked in the 1st round of the baseball draft. They decided it would be better for him to be a home state guy if the commitment was likely to never come to pass.
Dabo wins again by telling him if he wasn’t all-in he didn’t want the commitment! Love our coach an our Tigers!!
Good luck to Jerrion Ealy for his future career!!
Go Tigers......look forward to seeing Michel Dukes develop as a Tiger!!

If Ealy picked Ole Miss because it's the in-state school and he's loyal to them, I understand. If he has friends and folks in his town who really want him to stay in Mississippi so than can see him play if he does not take a baseball offer immediately, that makes sense.
If he picked Ole Miss for their football program or coaching staff, his choice makes no sense.
Wherever he goes I wish him well and hope he has fond memories of his visit and contact with Clemson.

I think there's a lot of information in that choice ...

I may be completely wrong, but the way I read it, there's a 99.9999% chance he's going to play baseball.
My guess is that his fellow Mississippians will be much more understanding with his playing baseball and not playing football for Ole Miss. If that is true, it makes sense not to alienate his home state fans by choosing Clemson over Ole Miss.
Our Tigers are just fine ... and whichever sport he decides to play, I wish good luck to Mr. Ealy.

Yeah you read it right.
When you are asked which sport you couldn't live without if you had to choose just one WHILE you are sitting at the college football signing day event after having JUST put on the cap of the school you 'committed to' and actually decide to answer 'baseball' instead of giving some polite non-answer, that's all you need to know really.
