Clemson is preparing for the day when the college playoff expands to more than 4 teams. New contracts have bonus for CFP appearance non-semifinal.

It looks like as usual, Dabo was was ahead of the game and had his man already on campus and ready to fill a spot on our coaching staff!!! I love a person that can look ahead to make the right decision when a situation comes up!!!

Anybody know if Hall will take the tackles and Bates the ends ... or vice versa?

not bad considering our placekicker tore his acl and our punter had a few bad games. Those are individual talents which is hard to coach. Our schemes have not been too bad.

Kind of a surprising hire
Jan 5, 2018, 2:56 PM
|

I realize this has been coming for some time, but Coach Hall has never coached above HS (to my knowledge) and never played the position to which he's assigned. So, what are the credentials?
Dabo has generally done a great job in hiring (only staff with two Broyles award winners). It just seems surprising this opportunity goes to a coach who has never coached collegiality. I would assume there are many experienced Power 5 coaches who would have loved this opportunity. Hopefully Coach Hall is not only a great teacher but a great recruiter as well. Given the recruiting at UGA and what Taggert will build at FSU, we'll need all the high level recruiters we can get.

I think it’s a great hire and will trust Dabo. If he’s been around the kids and coaches Bates likes him etc then I’m sure it’ll be nice hire.
I do agree with you on the uga and FSU comments. That’s why anything against uga I’m all in. Hope bama embarrasses them. At least beat them more than 20.

Dabo has given many on his staff an opportunity despite perceived lack of experience and they all have been successful: Scott, Elliott, Chad Morris, Streeter, Mickey Conn, Terry Allen... Dabo is not infallible, but he has proven to recognize talents and abilities that most of us overlook... the time on staff as an analyst provided two things: OJT for Hall and a full year for Dabo to review his capabilities and project his progress... as a CEO, Dabo is a beast...

Yet again, Dabo shows he's got this.
