I really think this was best for Alex and Clemson. Two many injuries to count on a lot of minutes.
Now can bring in another big and a more athletic wing.

I’m guessing that Alex and CBB had a meeting and it was decided that he would move on. He’s still not healthy and he’s going to have to wait a long while for his application for a medical hardship to be processed. The Tigers have an opportunity to go get another player for the future and they can’t afford to wait until a decision is made on AH. Good luck 👍🏼

I never heard what the issue was this year…I assumed it was a recurrence of his PF problems from before, which would mean it was chronic and debilitating to a serious career.
Sorry to see him go but agree it’s for the best.
The season that he played meaningful minutes he demonstrated that he had developed into a pretty good on-ball defender (after previously being considered a defensive liability). I think we never saw him realize his potential here.

I believe this year it was a hamstring. It probably healed, but by then he had the option to go for the medical redshirt. That’s why the transfer is interesting, because we played with a short bench down the stretch and likely Hemenway could have played, so I had assumed not playing was a mutual deal so Brownell had him next season. Things change, so maybe this is a sign Brownell has a better option available to sign from the portal, or he’s decided it’s time to invest playing time in the RS freshman Thomas so he avoids that being the next player to portal out.

Not a loss at all. Replace him with a better player and move on.
Why are people still overreacting about transfers, especially someone who barely has contributed?
