I thought I was watching the UGA game all over. Great pitching performance. No offense.

Struggling to hit against these types of teams. Hopefully we figure it out. Can't win em all!

Courageous pitching by Valerie, but Clemson lacks another couple bonafide hitters. They simply don’t exist on this roster. Their best chance was when Clark got on with Valerie up to bat. The Tigers would have been in a better situation if Clark was on 1st not 2nd and thus allowing the Vols to walk Cagle. Heck they might have walked her anyways. I recall that happening last season.

you mean good pitching? Its been that way for three years, they took people by surprise their first year, but teams are starting to figure them out. gotta hit the recruiting trail hard this year.

Sorry David, you can pump up the history all you want. The major line in your article. Tennessee transfer from Oklahoma. Flame away, TD, whatever you want, but we had all the equity in the world to get recruits and transfers from programs like ucla, Oklahoma, Texas, or Arizona. The question that needs to be addressed is why haven't we?

Why have we settled for transfers from the middle pack acc teams and middle sec schools. Where is our recruiting development? We've had 5 years and a highly successful program... on the outside. Has softball accomplished more than anyone expected, sure. It's been fun. Main reason is Valerie Cagle.

We're not nearly as polished a program as we should be. Most will laugh, but we need change in order to take the next step. Our batting average is extremely bloated by our weak teams. Our team batting average against top 20 teams is dismal. You expected that in years 1 and 2.

Now, to some extent, we're strapped much like baseball with scholarships and oos costs. That's where nil comes in and other means. Alabama, Oklahoma state, and Oklahoma find ways. How, through recruiting and development. We have a developmental problem and I hope we see some staff turnover. Rittman was the right coach at the right time but sadly he's taken us about as far as Bowden took Clemson football.

I'm sorry if this comes across as negative. But I'm just trying to keep it real.

You’re thoughts are not out of line. The roster of younger players becoming starters is limited to Moore and Vieira. Knowler shows promise for the future. Duncan in the circle is an unknown because she’s not getting opportunities. Team #4 was a strong team because Rittman hit on three transfers that filled the gaps. Without developing highly ranked freshman the roster for the next couple years is going to be lacking. Rittman deserves a ton of credit for what he built but it won’t be sustained past this season. Unfortunately, we will then go into several years of decline if Rittman doesn’t make changes. Frankly, it’s probably too late for Team #6. I forsee a situation of Rittman coaching several more years based on the collateral he banked, then finally a move in another direction.

I dont think you can use the scholarship excuse for softball. They dont have to worry about players getting drafted straight out of high school. If they want to play they HAVE to go to college. Imagine if our baseball program got some of the guys who went straight to the MLB.

Should have made it more clear in that they only get partial scholarships and can only have 18. Still, not a bad gig but some still can't afford a partial. My bad.

Concerning the hitting has not improved.
Juniors and seniors have not progressed.
Maybe they have maxed out there talent.
Season is young maybe they improve.

for your offense and defense. Going to be hard to win the big games if bats don't heat up.
