This sure sounds promising. The offense has been a little hard to watch at times the last couple of years. Really hope the fun returns this year.

I like what I’m hearing and completely understand the “less is more” concept in offenses. I played under a coach that ran the same basic plays out of about 4 formations in HS. He is now in the SC Hall of Fame. The coach that took over my senior year put in a no huddle offense with more complications and long developing plays and we went to complete crap on offense. The main difference was that we had mastered the other play book, and anyone could know pretty much everyone’s job by the end of one fall camp. Our opponents knew what we were going to run half the time but they couldn’t stop it.

They had no clue what we were running out of the complicated offense but we stopped ourselves.

Our offense the last 2 years reminded me so much of that one awful season.

At least they won’t get him hurt running his legs off into a stacked line - we can pass now with a QB and an OC.

Air riad offense.

Will has it right. Riley doesn't run an "air raid offense." Any coach whoever coached under Mike Leach is branded "an air riad guy."

Here are the stats from 2022

Miss St.
Rush 289 - 40%
Pass 428 - 60%

TCU
Rush 566 - 55%
Pass 454 - 45%

It's a spread, up tempo offense. But it is nothing like Leach's offense. And certainly nothing like Leach ran at Kentucky when he introduced the "Air Raid Offense."

You may be right but wondering how the run pass ratio is impacted by the available personnel? Riley was at TCU for a single season so he had to find a way to make it work with the players available Vs having time to recruit to his scheme. Will be exciting to watch it unfold at Clemson
