Fast pitch softball at any level is all about pitching. UVA pitchers were spot on in that 3 game series and shut our offense down when they needed to. In short, VA played with more intencity than our Tigers. They palyed like a team with something to prove (and they did prove). The Tigers are currently inconsistent in the field, at the plate, and in the circle. They do not look like a top 25 team. VA looked liked the better prepared and better coached team. If coach Ritman is as good as billed, now is the time to prove it and right this ship.

I am not sure what Val C's illness / injury / situation is ? I am also not sure why there has been such secrecy regarding both her and Julia Knowler ? Cagle has looked "spoty" to say the least over the past few weeks. It could be that teams have seen her a lot and viewed a lot of film over the past few years and have just figured her out ? It could be that see has been over used and is suffering from fatique ? She is a great player. I love watching her play and hope that the balance of the season goes well for her.

They’ll get better at the right time of the season.

Tough weekend. The kind of good news is the next 5 games are at home against softer competition. If they don’t respond over the next five then there are some serious problems.

Hitting has been the issue so far. I have confidence they will get it going.

Not sure when that right time might be. We've played 62% of our season already. We do have what should be cupcakes to us, but so should have Virginia.

We are very fortunate that we don't play va tech or fsu in the regular season. We have Duke left. We could lose some games or series to ND and Louisville. Probably get swept by Duke. We haven't played any team this season as good as Duke.

There's a scenario where we may end up 5th or 6th in the acc standings. Our ooc sos was highly rated but we lost the games to ranked opposition. So it's a legit chance we may not make a regional or squeeze into a tough one.

This team looks lost. Conference teams have seen our pitching for a couple of years and they're learning to hit them.

The next 8 games coming up for the Tigers should help matters and gain a good bit of the confidence back for them before playing South Carolina on April 9th because they are all very very winnable games.A home series against Boston College, away series vs Syracuse and non conference games against Georgia State and Furman at home. The Tigers should have a 30-9 overall record and be 12-3 in the ACC after those 8 games before they go to Columbia.
