For this reasin, it's elementary Clemson has much to prove after two lackadaisical seasons resulting in the starting QB being benched and the OC being fired.
ESPN is pro-SEC. This is true. Still, Clemson and Cade have much to prove. And with Garrett Riley's Offense, by gawd, Clemson and Cade will have an outstanding season in 2023. Get your Heisman bets in early. Go Molly! Go Tigers!

Cade himself said he did not practice with the starters all year. He only practiced with them going into the ACC championship game. And then it was only about 30% of the snaps.
So no, David, he was not given every opportunity to unseat DJ. He was given zero opportunity, because Dabo was not replacing DJ, unless DJ got hurt or his hand was forced. Unfortunately, his hand was forced.
The crazy thing, however, was the fact that Dabo did not get Cade snaps with the starters in case DJ got hurt. That was dumb. But he couldn’t let Cade play with the starters because it would’ve been obvious he was better than DJ. It would’ve caused problems.
Dabo’s loyalty and stubbornness regarding DJ harmed the team. We should’ve beaten South Carolin and been in the playoffs. We would have with Cade at quarterback.
Had we simply run the ball rather than letting DJ throw it so much against South Carolina we would’ve won the game.
And that SC lost killed several streaks!

I agree. It was out of Cade’s hand and we all know that Dabo was ver loyal to DJ to a fault. As a whole I think Clemson does not have that much to prove based on Clemson’s history the last 10 years.

I feel like you can't say Kirby Smart has that much to prove when he's coming off back to back championships, both dominant blowouts. People get upset any time anyone is anything other than glowing, but the simple fact is that we do have a lot to prove to show we're championship contenders. We weren't even close the past 3 seasons.
