Clemson NIL has taken the next big step

It makes supporting Clemson NIL a lot less confusing and more comfortable for those who initially had concerns about their money and where it was going. Linking the donations to IPTAY points should be next (now that we know it's possible).

Where did you read that IPTAY points can be linked to donations? I have missed that info. TIA

I was only stating what the next logical step should be. There has been no official word regarding the possibility of this happening.
The entire goal of this NIL reorganization was to align it with IPTAY.

It's definitely possible...

Under the current NCAA rules, IPTAY can “assist in fundraising” for 110 Society. They cannot give IPTAY money to the NIL collective, but incentives for those who donate to the NIL collective are not off the table.

This all seems like we're 10 steps behind and just trying to catch up. It's like someone complained that donors were getting confused on whether to put their money in IPTAY or DOC/TI, and now CUAD is stepping in to un-screw that mess.
Bottom line: it's the same donor group!
Where is the *new* money coming in? Who, at Clemson, is taking innovative approaches to create NIL opportunities (without asking IPTAY donors for more money)? Who is making the 5-star high school volleyball or women's basketball player with only 300 followers on social media, become a target for $100K+ NIL deals by taking action early on?
Here's a metaphor...when you're a jet pilot, you're constantly having to stay "ahead of the jet." You're not sitting back and being reactive. You're always 2-3 steps ahead of the jet so that you put yourself in a non-reactive position. When you're completely reactive, you have problems quickly (and may very well crash).
Why does it feel like we're behind the jet on this?

I do agree (from an outsider/layman's perspective) we mayhave been a little slow on the trend. When I saw they had chopped down the Hallmark store for the NIL office though, I gleaned things were in motion.
Perhaps we were slow on purpose for due diligence? I have know way of knowing, but given all the possible legal implications (real or perceived), maybe this was Clemson being the 'second mouse who got the cheese'.
Not sure either way, but I think it's impressive so whether we are late or not it sure is better than what we were putting out before.
PS-I'd like to go for a ride in a jet if you're offering.

Dabo: We have to do this because it's required today in college athletics.
Brad: This is great for our players and our program.

This is Dabo’s quote verbatim
Dabo Swinney, Football: “Empowering our student-athletes to be successful with NIL opportunities is a priority for our program and we’re excited our fans can utilize 110 Society as a vehicle to enjoy the experiences that NIL creates. Our fans give us an advantage in Death Valley and we know they’ll do the same with 110 Society.”
That is a very enthusiastic endorsement of this NIL program

I didn't insert any prejudice, because I don't have any.

I read all of what Dabo said. He absolutely sounds enthusiastic about 110 Society, but the focus doesn't seem to be on how it's good for student-athletes nearly as much as how it's necessary in today's college football landscape.
From my view, emphasizing how meaningful it is for the players would have been a nice strategy for Dabo, especially since he has a reputation for being against NIL (whether fair or not).

That’s rich that you don’t think you have any prejudice between Dabo and Brad. Talk about a lack of self awareness.

Dabo: We’re leveling the playing field. We did this the right way. We needed the right guy and we have him now.
Brad: I really needed this to help me recruit.

It's a prime example of how one coach has been empowered to succeed by being given every possible advantage by the administration and fans, while the other coach hasn't had those advantages.

Judge I've always and will always stay away from the bashings that some T Netters dish out to you, but, your statement this time is being nitpicky, and as one of your T Net friends, I do wish you would have let it go this time... Go Tigers, Go Dabo and Brad!!!!

I agree, Judge you make it hard on those of us to keep defending you. Dabo can be frustrating but he’s back to winning ballgames so let this go!

Clown. You never miss a single opportunity to diss Dabo. Never.
Dabo Swinney, and I quote: “Empowering our student-athletes to be successful with NIL opportunities is a priority for our program and we’re excited our fans can utilize 110 Society as a vehicle to enjoy the experiences that NIL creates. Our fans give us an advantage in Death Valley and we know they’ll do the same with 110 Society.”

To be honest, when NIL dropped I spent $60 for the 'Holder-U' hoodie the Swinney brothers put out about as fast as anyone in the county. I also ordered their autographed football for another $100 or whatever, but it was smudged so they didn't send and refunded me.
I think if Dabo was that opposed to it, he wouldn't allow it in his own household. Just sayin.
This is good for all our Clemson athletes. And it might help Brad more than anyone.

That is a great idea and will bring benefits. NIL is way more than that because I see local business owners, car dealerships for example, hiring athletes to promote their business and would not need 110 Society.

Funding?

is this funded by the school or do they take a cut off the top of every dollar donated, pledged, spent, etc?

Separate funding

separate checks actually. Funds have to be donated and cannot come from coaches, IPTAY or the school.
Yet.
