To all the so called Clemson Fans that want to see

Dabo fired. You obviously don't remember the Hatfield, West, and Majority of the Bowden years. It is sad that Clemson has had more success in the past few years and accomplished more than under those previously mentioned coaches, yet some can't even enjoy or appreciate it! Dabo Swinney is good for Clemson and I am glad he is here because I know it could be a lot worse, 20 plus years worth of worse. The fact that some people get on this website, do nothing but complain and have the audacity to call yourself a Clemson Fan is a JOKE! Venting about a loss or losses is one thing, but to see some of the crap that gets posted by some is PATHETIC! That is all! GO TIGERS!

I am not one for firing Dabo Swinney but do you think that Dabo is the only coach that could succeed at Clemson?

If we stagnate or slide backwards, maybe then it's worth the risk to "try" another HC. But from my perspective we are on an upward march both in how we play and the talent we have been getting. It's far from perfect, but it's not at a point where a crap shoot makes sense.

and say the passion Dabo has for Clemson University shouldn't go unnoticed. He goes above and beyond just being a head football coach in that he cares about players on and off the football field. He cares about their success in life and not just on the field. Most kids and their parents embrace that and I think that is what sets him apart from the average coach. Now, in regards to his success as a coach: it has been 25 years since we have had 3 years in a row with 10+ wins. That, my friend, is an accomplishment. 2 division championships, 1 conference championship, numerous individual awards, multiple NFL draft picks.......... Lighten up people and enjoy the ride. I am not saying I am okay with the few losses we have had but unlike in the past, we are winning games we are supposed to win convincingly. We are beating some teams not only in the ACC but some pretty good teams out of our conference. If we continue to recruit and the coaches continue to learn the personnel's capabilities, we will start winning the ones that are getting away from us. I firmly believe if we can beat everyone else, our success against those other teams is inevitable. Go Tigers !!

next door. Always gotta have what THEY have, whoever they are. Bama is better at recruiting? FIRE DABO!
I will give many the benefit of the doubt on the recent record versus SCar. I don't have to face their annoying fans hardly at all, much less regularly. It's gotta stink.

There are some mixed here and there who either want Dabo to move on to Bama or Texas or wherever or simply argue he is as bad as or worse than ..... name the past coach nobody likes (Bowden, Hatfield, etc.).
I'm not sure every one of those posts are serious. This board more than most has a lot of people who are just looking for attention.

very different things. I would be ok if Dabo took the Texas job, but I do not want Clemson to fire him.
But it's moot because there isn't a chance in hell Texas hires Dabo.

must not have been around after the sc loss. Many may not have used the word "fired" but "time for him to go" was used very frequently.

I saw the post-SCAR stuff. Pretty sure half of that was understandable emotion. I have not seen anything over the last week calling for Dabo to be fired, just some complaints about different aspects of his coaching style and statements of general frustration. I'm sure there have been a few posts calling for Dabo to be fired, but they are outnumbered 10-1 by the opposite.

That's the big problem I have with Dabo, he didn't just turn
Dec 16, 2013, 3:13 PM

the tide with them (in a bad way) on the field, he did it off the field too. Of course that excludes player behavior. Lou Holtz was a terrible leader who led a team of criminals into Death Valley in 2004. Dabo cares about the moral health of his team. I think he's a little too zealous and arrogant, but I believe he is genuinely trying to do good. And that's very important. How Dabo turned the tide off the field has more to do with knowing when to shut up.
When I was growing up in Georgia and Columbia, Clemson fans just behaved better, for the most part. Being from Georgia, Clemson people always appeared more realistic and mature to me than Gamecock fans. I thought Gamecock fans were the angry, jealous, runts of South Carolina. It was fun to make fun of their futility because they couldn't even lose with dignity. They were excuse-making, self-ignorant deflectors of the truth.
But, Dabo sorta behaves like those coot fans I used to judge and make fun of. Too often, he doesn't know when to shut up. He says goofy stuff and brings somewhat negative attention on himself and the program. He does enough to give us hope confidence and then, in fantastic fashion, sets us up for extreme embarrassment on the field.
But Clemson people, being the proud, loyal people they are, stand up for Dabo, even though he puts us in an awkward position. At this point, some us are starting to look delusional by defending his antics. They beat us handily and repeatedly, but we (and our coach) still talk crap. Now coot fans have all the ammo against us that we used to have against them.
At the end of the day what I am saying as that Gamecock fans used to behave in a way that made them DESERVE to lose to us. Now we, led by our coach, behave eerily similar.

The USC game, and its surroudning circumstances (say if somehow we lose and still end up in the playoff) next year will determine his fate.

I just like seeing people get fired. I pretty much always complain to the manager about my food, the service, etc. I call every "How's My Driving?" sign I see on commercial vehicles and blast the driver with lies. My favorite show is The Apprentice and when Trump says the magic words, that's my money shot. So, do I want Dabo fired? You bet your sweet @ss I do. Morris? Yep. Venables? Do you have to ask?
But, I consider myself a Clemson fan.

that I totally agree with the first post. Dabo is great for Clemson and has done more than any of the previous coaches since Danny. Our guys win, they graduate and he teaches them how to be successes in life. I hope he's here until he retires. A great ambassador for Clemson and a great leader to our young student athletes.

aren't as good now as when Bowden had to play them. I feel like Bowden would have similar results as Dabo. No way would Bowden beat FSU or USC either, though.
