International Carrot Day is for carrot lovers around the world and is celebrated with the eating of carrots and the holding of carrot parties. It was created in 2003 to spread knowledge about the vegetable. It makes sense carrots are celebrated internationally, as they are one of the ten most economically important vegetables in the world.

Anyone been to a carrot party?

Whut?

My dogs freak out for carrots, you know the baby ones that come in the bag all washed and clean? You could put a normal dog treat, or scooby snack if you will, next to a carrot…these pups will go for the carrot every time.

as treats for my equines. I don't eat them myself except on rare occasion. I buy them by the 5-pound bag (I ponder why would any household need 5 pounds of carrots at one time other than for animal treats?). About $4 for a 5-pounder. Publix sells a 25-pound bag, which absolutely confuses me how they sell this.

I am continuously appalled at the horrible condition of store-bought carrots. The grocery stores (all of them) routinely keep half spoiled ones on the shelf in these larger bags. Have to be very careful not to get rubbery ones, or carrots that have already started to sprout new roots and other weird appendages. The 1- and 2-pound bags are usually pretty fresh though.

Figured since I had the very-rare opportunity to rant about the pitiful condition of store-bought carrots, I would take it.
