That is where he needs to be - a DC. He was at UAB but they changed entire coaching staffs and coaches were replaced en mas. Anyway - glad to see this. Rick is building a good staff and really competitive program. Teams will have issues with this team in 2-3 years.

Great wish him well, he was our attempt to recreate Danny Ford and I know he loved Clemson and gave us his all. In the end, he just did not win enough games here.

Many other coaches (*cough*Kenhatfield*cough*) tend to get defensive and gripe and lash out at the fans.
I'll always pull for him.

Tommy West is one of the two most underrated coaches in Clemson football history, the other being Ken Hatfield. Best wishes, Coach West!

If you think Hatfield destroyed the program by not recruiting, how did he have so many of his players drafted by the NFL? Brian Dawkins, Pat Sapp, Trevor Pryce, and Dexter McCleon are a few that immediately come to mind. Actually, in his four years at Clemson, he was superior to Dabo's first four full years in almost every measurement. Hatfield couldn't be a good fit at Clemson because, unlike Dabo, he wasn't a good salesman, and he refused to simply tell the fans what they wanted to hear.
