Question for the Football gurus

I know the game very well but I'm certainly not a technique, mechanics, play design, tactician kind of guy.

My question is: with the woes and weaknesses of our last 2 starting QB's and a less than stellar OL, would we benefit from some alternate formations? I know we line up with an H-back inside the OT's off the LOS, quite a bit. I've argued for several years that we should incorporate some I-formation stuff. On rare occasion, we have. But with Cade (and DJU) being jumpy In the pocket and many times bailing when they don't need to, could it help.

If our OTs are holding their own would we not benefit from an extra pass protector inside? If the opponent has a known beast at DE or the DC likes to bring guys from the outside, I understand lining up an H-back like we often do. I'd argue that the interior (LG-C-RG) has been much weaker than the OTs.

Sure the I and it's variants are from a bygone era but that doesn't mean it's obsolete. I may be wrong but I think ot would also add wrinkles to our screen game, be more productive to run the occasional option. Also, with the interior OL weakness, would an extra blocker inside on interior runs to maybe double on a DT allowing Mafah and/or Adams to get to the second level and take on the LB one on one with a head of steam.

I may be 100% wrong but hey I love Clemson FB and love to discuss FB. We got a bunch of downtime between now and camp.

So discuss.

Only our football coaches can talk about football not us. We're just supposed to sit back and enjoy the product they put on the field.

Drop the QB deeper in the pocket would be a start. The tackles just have to block inside out making it easier. The QB has more room to step up. If the protection collapses up the middle he can run left or right. This allows him to keep his eyes down field and a escape route.
His Drop is way too shallow. I'm sure the big money guys will figure it out. Lol.
I'll go back to my day job now.

We will benefit when we have a better RB, better OL players and better WR players on the field. Give a coach the players and it is an easy game.
