The New York Jets continue to destroy their franchise with

this delusional pursuit of Aaron Rodgers. That Head Case doesn't really want to play for ANYBODY anymore, much less the Jets. I think deep down, the Jets owner knows that this is a suicide move, which is why he refuses to pull the trigger on giving the Packers what they want in the way of a future No. 1 draft choice, as well as additional draft choices, to complete the deal.

IMHO, the Jets would be much better served to rally around Zach Wilson this season, since they have already waited until every other servicable QB is gone in free agency. (Unless you really believe Lamar Jackson is leaving the Ravens, and would actually play for the Jets. He would require a bigger draft haul than Rodgers, more than likely. But, he would be worth more than Rodgers going forward, as well.)

But, what it really boils down to, is, the New York Jets just have no historical clue about how this personnel thing, and drafting or trading for, or DEVELOPING good players, is supposed to work. I was a fan back in the Joe Willie Namath days, but, looking back, it is just flat amazing that they ever won a Super Bowl, as clueless as they are as an organization. Even Rich Eisen bemoans his fandom.

Stay tuned, the Jets will botch this Aaron Rodgers situation. It is in their DNA.

I'm a jets fan

And I absolutely DO NOT think Zach Wilson should be our QB. we have weapons, he just can't get them the ball. Just look at what Flacco and white did last year when he was out. They actually won games

You could be right. But, as a rule these days, I do not believe NFL franchises give young QBs a fair shot to grow and gain experience in the league these days. If you are not a Day One success, they are already looking around for the next guy, instead of trying to figure out how to help the existing guy get better.

Coaching can make a HUGE difference. Look no further than Jacksonville, where, in his first year, Trevor Lawrence was, and this is putting it charitably, not very good. Fast forward a year, with the stench of Urban Meyer gone, and a real NFL coach on hand, and he was suddenly Trevor Lawrence again.

As I said, I too was a Jets fan, for decades. I finally gave up on them when players AND coaches became a revolving door a couple of years ago. Now, I just root randomly for teams that have one or more Clemson players, mostly Jacksonville due to Trevor and Travis Etienne.

I have Zach Wilson higher on my board than Trevor Lawrence.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

I am still thankful that the Gliders played their way out of the #1 pick.

Troy Aikman is a perfect example.

He literally got his brains beat out the first two seasons while Jimmy Johnson built a team around him. I think they only won a handful of games those first two seasons. Actually, some of those poundings and concussions his first two seasons lead to his career not being as long as it should have been.

If they want to commit franchise suicide...

Apr 13, 2023, 9:20 AM

they'd be better-off signing Colin Kaepernick. He's a divisive race baiting head case and a locker room cancer which would invariably lead to turmoil and a toxic team environment, but at least he wants to play.

Colin K does not want to play. He just wants a soapbox to stand on and tell you, me and all others how we are just a bunch of bums for not supporting his cause.

You're probably right...

He seems like one of those people who isn't happy unless they're b!tc#hing, moaning, whining or complaining about something, or telling anyone who will listen who is to blame for the problems he has created for himself.

And hire Jesse Jackson as team chaplain.

Lmao!!!

And Dylan Mulvaney as a cheerleader!

All those blue collar fans in New York, would lose their freaking minds!

But give me Mike White over Zach Wilson

I was mad when they

Apr 13, 2023, 2:21 PM

Benched him after Wilson came back. But he did take a pretty bad beating in that one game. Broke some ribs I believe.

Wilson was a wasted pick and I never saw him as more than a serviceable starter at best. Too small, poor leadership skills, relied too much on athleticism in college, and did not play well against the better defenses. I can't understand how draft "experts" keep falling for these guys (this year, it's Bryce Young).

The sad thing is the Jets actually had a good draft last year and a good nucleus to build around.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is all being caused by Packers who want Jet's #1 pick

Jul 1, 2022, 1:44 PM

among other things

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

For that part of it, I don't blame the Jets owner one bit

Apr 13, 2023, 1:29 PM

for balking at it. He is going to have to pay that head case $50 million dollars to play probably ONE year, no way I give up multiple draft choices for that. Rodgers would have to commit on an ironclad incentive laden contract to AT LEAST three years for me to spring on that, and Mr. Head Case is not about to do that.

The Jets would have been better off if that Darkness Retreat had convinced Rodgers to go ahead and retire. Hard to see how someone who loves the spotlight as much as Rodgers does ever wanted to go on a DARKNESS Retreat to begin with. I bet he had his phone in his pocket set on bright light the whole time.

I’m with giving the QB time to grow. Wilson has not forgotten how to play, but in this day in time and the monies invested you better be ready, or get ready to be replaced.

Aaron Rogers… used to like the guy but he has gotten very strange over the years. Wish he would get left out to dry but I’m sure he will land somewhere.

Wilson is done as an NFL QB. He lost the locker room with his comments last year and doesn’t have the ability. He was a one year wonder and his toughest game was vs coastal Carolina… let that sink in for a second.
