UGA OL coach Stacey Searls

He was coaching at UNC few yrs ago and they had a good OL with less stars than us. He is making $750k now at UGA and with 4-5* players, they have been great for couple years. Thomas Austin is making like $500k and never coached D1 until Clemson. While I love the Clemson connection, we should be hiring proven D1 coaches over coaches on training.

Not sold that TA needs to be given more time at Clemson as the OL and WRs seem to be the biggest struggles.

I completely agree…. But, its Dabo’s call. Firing Austin or Grisham would be like firing his own son. He recruited them, they played their hearts out for him…..

......to the more proven and experienced guy they could bring in. Dabo went out and got Bates from Troy to be D-line coach back in the short days. Dabo just has to want to do it.

well, that's what CEO's do.... Hire potential and fire the one's that don't work out. Sorreh if it hurts because of the friends and family plan program.

If it is too painful to fire them, reassign them. Put Grisham in charge of the Transfer Portal and Austin in charge of High School relations, or vice versa. It doesn’t really matter since neither position has any responsibility.
And tell Pearman and Caldwell they have ridden the gravy train long enough.

rub. That's why you never hire family, good friends, etc. Too difficult to make objective decisions. Complicates everything.

It would not be like firing your son.

He recruited them to be great players. They did well as players.

He hired them to be great coaches. They have been mediocre at best as coaches.

Best is the standard and the entire staff knows this.

They will not be surprised.

I don't recall that, but he has yrs of experience in D1. They probably want him back as their OL stinks this year and is why Maye is not playing up to his Heisman hype.

He wouldn’t look the same, not saying he isn’t a good coach. UNC doesn’t have the same players UGA does, there’s a reason that OL looks as good as it does.

You can definitely see UGAs offensive line dominance in this game and it does so much for a quarterbacks rhythm and confidence when they have a little time to make reads and deliver a solid ball to give their receivers a chance .

Whatever Dabo chooses to do at the end of the season in regards to coaching changes is up to him and I'll support it. That being said, I believe he needs to part ways with Austin and Grisham.

I agree, but I am a little torn with Austin. I think that he has done a great job recruiting. Either the evaluation or the coaching has been poor, but according to the recruiting services, he has brought in high quality players.

I'm not torn at all on Grisham. He needs to go.

If we are interested in competing for the NC again yes he does. If we’re going to be “appreciative” for 8-9 win seasons then I guess he’s fine

If Sam Pittman gets fired as HC of Arkansas bring him in as OL coach. He was OL coach at Georgia before taking HC At Arkansas. He is one of best out there.
