No mention of Clemson and Neff- interesting the leagues biggest brand isn’t mentioned.

Many of the articles I have read lately are mentioning Clemson less and less for some reason. More about FSU, UNC and UVA being coveted by the Big 2 . It's a little scary.

Does the SEC really want Clemson to come in and just dominate?

We recruit extremely well without being tied to the B1G or SEC. I think it’s pretty safe to say our recruiting would only get better if we were in the SEC. There are recruits that loved Clemson but wanted to play in the SEC. Imagine that, a Clemson football program that is already equal to the upper echelon of SEC getting better recruiting classes.

Is the additional TV market Clemson would bring worth the conference dominance we would also bring? You have to know the SEC decision makers have discussed the scenario.

I would not worry about about Clemson not being mentioned as much in recent articles. I think you’ve got some vested reporters trying to make a case for those other schools. Plus, when Clemson goes silent, it usually means something is in the works. My opinion is that Clemson probably already has a plan and timing in place; they are just finalizing the dotting of the i’s and crossing of the t’s at this point.

agreed… that’s what I meant by silence being “interesting”…

UNC can’t leave without taking State. The UNC

board of governors won’t let it happen. The same is probably true for UVA (remember how VT got in the ACC?). It will be interesting to see what happens, but if was running the ACC right now I’m yanking the rug out from Notre Dame. I’m telling them to give us 8 conference games a year or go find somewhere else for all your other sports. I would also be willing to add Stanford and Cal to get them signed. Adding those 3 plus one of the other outcast PAC schools or SMU will allow us to renegotiate a reasonable TV deal. It could easily backfire if they joined the Big 10 outright, but it’s really the only way to save the ACC past 2036.
