They are 7-11 vs quad 1 and 2. We are 7-4. We have 4 quad 3 or 4 Ls and they have 0. Of course they are UNC and will get the nod over us but should they? They did beat the brakes off us but it was at home for them.

Pretty much shows these "formulas" are conjured up by people believing, or at least they'll be rewarded by the claiming only certain teams can be good. I.e. when Duke and UNCheat are not at the top of the ACC the whole conference must suck. Ergo, the teams at the top of the ACC must suck if they are not Duke or UNCheat. Jay Bilas said the very thing in almost those words this last week- when Duke and UNCheat are not on top the conference suffers. That is part of the BS that has crept in over the years. While Clemson has generally not had teams good enough to effectively compete in the ACC Championship, that is only part of the reason Clemson has never won it. Clemson has had teams that were good enough. Other newer members of the conference with more of a basketball emphasis than a football emphasis have done it. An ACC ref is raised on the assumption that Clemson has no business winning championships in basketball, particularly when the blue teams are involved. That's why Clemson's better teams have gone farther in the NCAA tourney than the ACC. So when the score is close with minutes to go, that is what happens, be it with phantom fouls or uncalled fouls or even phantom seconds added to the clock. Whatever it takes.
