Updated ACC Basketball Standings (3/2).....

Time to set the scene. With Louisville vs VT being canceled due to the Hokie Covid....the plot thickens a bit.
To get double bye....here's what needs to happen.
Scenario one: Clemson wins both games, Louisville loses to UVA
Scenario two: Clemson splits the two games, Louisville loses to UVA...but then GT would also have to lose at Wake (objects in the rear view mirror are closer than they appear!)....so that's not all that realistic.
Scenario three: Va. Tech misses the tourney due to Covid...and therefore Clemson moves up regardless of what happens with Louisville. But I don't know exactly how they would do the tourney with a team removed and if there would still be four double byes.
That's really it. There is another outlandish scenario involving FSU losing twice...but it's not going to happen I'm assuming that VT isn't going to play their last regular season game and will finish 9-4. Even at 11-5, we would still be behind them percentage wise. So it really comes down to what Clemson does and what Louisville does. Fortunately we have our games first....so it's a matter of winning the games and then sitting back to see what happens later in the day on Saturday.
1. FSU 10-3 2. UVA 12-4 3. Va. Tech 9-4 4. Louisville 8-4 5. Clemson 9-5 6. Ga. Tech 10-6 7. UNC 9-6 9. Syracuse 9-7 9. Duke 9-8 10. N.C. State 8-8 11. Pittsburgh 6-9 12. Notre Dame 6-10 13. Boston College 2-9 14. Wake Forest 3-14 15. Miami 3-15
Remaining Games (for the relevant teams)
FSU (BC; at Notre Dame) UVA (at Louisville) VT (at NCSU) Louisville (UVA) Clemson (at Syracuse, Pittsburgh) UNC (Duke) Duke (at UNC) GT (at Wake) Syracuse (Clemson)

Louisville is a team that VT fans have a deep rooted dislike for that precedes the ACC by decades, going back to the old Metro Conference in the 70's. Speaking from a fan's perspective, VT wanted to play this game very badly, plus it was a home game following the largest win by points in an ACC game in our short history in the league. In other words, the team was playing well and confident.
Plus love us or hate us, that just isn't Mike Young's style, and you guys know it from his years in the Carolinas at Wofford. That cat is about as straight laced as they come.

It was also Senior Night for VT....

Last home game of the regular season, etc. No one purposely gives up that sort of thing. I hope that VT gets cleared for the ACC tourney....would be a shame if they weren’t.

Actually, senior night was the other night against Wake which was supposed to be the last home game. The Louisville game was rescheduled from mid-February from when they were on a Covid break.
So at least VT did get to send their one senior (Bede) out right.

Thanks for this. Lets just win ours and see what happens. Its disappointing but its not like we can do anything beyond play. Finishing ahead of NC, Duke, and Syracuse is pretty neat

one more scenario? I think....

Clemson wins 2 - and VT loses to NC State. Prob 99% chance that game gets canceled however.
