Post Office

My understanding is that is a good job for many. Federal job with good pay and excellent benefits. I would not want to deliver mail in some areas, but in my county, no problems like that.

I buy many, many, most things on line. I buy most of what I buy online as choices are better and prices are lower. This week got in 3 Western Painted turtles via FedEx. Now I need some bullfrogs.

The employees at my local post office are crap. They have it made in the shade as to an easy gig, but are lazy and incompetent. Neighbors bring mail over put in the wrong box. They have set themselves up as "entitled".

I ordered 2 fishing rods from Amazon as mine burned in the fire and Stripers will be running up river soon towards Clemson. My contract with Amazon is delivery to my door. Amazon has a contract with the USPS to deliver them to my door. That is what I paid for.
Instead I get a notice to come pick them up. This happens from time to time. USPS delvers things to me all the time, so ###? I will not drive the 7 miles to pick things up as that is not the deal we all agreed to.

I am a cranky old man. They can hold them there until hell freezes over, no amount of notices in my box will change that. Instead of the notice, bring the #### rod, it just weighs one pound.

I re-orded from Bass Pro and got the same rods next day via UPS.

Anything the government gets into costs more and runs like crap as opposed to private industry.

Be careful dropping your mail off at the post office in the outside drop off blue boxes. It was in the news they had a problem in Greenwood county with mail being stolen from the drop off boxes. I'm sure it's happening everywhere. Crooks looking for cash, checks, and gift cards. I have a family member who mailed a check for a car payment in one of those outside boxes and it was stolen and whitewashed and made out to them for 5,000 and they tried to cash it. Luckily the signature on it raised red flags at the bank and they didn't get away with it but account numbers, direct deposits and everything had to be changed and it was still a big headache. I don't mail checks much anymore but on the rare occasion I do I now take it inside the post office and mail it.

Just wait until the Government provides everyone's free healthcare.
