UVA student section ... Clemson AD take note of where

they're sitting in support of their #2 ranked undefeated basketball team.
A sea of enthusiastic orange T-shirts for the first 12-14 rows from the floor.
Just makes sense ...

Students would show up if they did not have sit behind the goals. It is much better for them to watch on tv.

They showed up in droves when the team was good. I think too much is made of where the students are. Duke and UNC have their students in totally different areas, but they always show up. SCU and Clemson have their students in totally different areas, and no one shows up. What's the difference? Quality of teams on the floor.

I say put the people that pay the most in the best seats

They don't put the student section at football games in the best seats, why should they do it for basketball?
You pay, you should get great seats. Otherwise, why would Donors pay their money to sit in the rafters?
This is America. You pay, you get the good seats.

Kids and us parents footing Clemson tuition are paying plenty of "big money".

Just sayin. Paying plenty of American dollars for my son to attend. And he goes to the games and actually makes noise.

boxes in the West Zone. Cater to them, but put the vocal group on the floor.
I was one of the Littlejohn Loonies under the basket when I was a student. I truly believe that we made a difference in some games.

Big donors are going to be happiest sitting where ever they are catered to most and made most comfortable.
Why do you think the formerly crappy West End Zone is now considered the primo place in DV ??
Is it because that particular vantage point suddenly became the best way to watch a football game ? Of course not. It's because of what's up there now.
In basketball, the fans who are most into the game need to be down on the floor. It's just common sense. Actually, they really need to be on risers rather than seats so you can cram more of them in (like Duke does) and they can jump up and down all game. Then just above that level, you should put the big donors who are also happen to be enthusiastic fans. Honestly, 15-20 rows up are the best seats in the house for watching basketball.
Finally, all other big donors will be much happier and better off in a nice box seat or some other privileged area where students are not allowed and don't really want to be in the first place. The deep pockets crowd will quickly embrace this because it makes them feel special and provides exclusivity.
This needs to be done, and done soon.
It will absolutely work out wonderfully for all involved at Clemson ... just like it does at other places where basketball is a priority.

That's a bit screwed up. It's a University team.

Students should get the awesome seats. ESPECIALLY if it makes our program look better on TV.
Money isn't everything. Should we let the students who pay the most tuition be on the teams?
