Venables Has Seen This Before. This Is Awkward ----

When Coach Venables was at Oklahoma
he was co-defensive coordinator
along with the other Stoops brother
and well we were blessed to get
Venables and I'm going to keep it
at that. Let's not tear this great
family vibe apart is all I'm saying.

I hope this will be as smoother as
a cool glass of beer.

Works fine. The whole CO thing is to get around state laws about what you can pay coaches. Jeff is the play caller.

Not whining.If I was then I would
have been on this site since he
made the announcement with 56 posts
on this subject.... but that didn't
happen did it?? The observation is
that I noticed about co-positions
and the outcome of them is what I
was addressing. We had co-starting
quarterbacks too but its always
best to have that one thats ""THE""
leader on the field for the offense.

True, the staff is going to do what
they want to do regardless of what
we want or think...but there will
always be backlash and consequences
to pay when its all going the wrong
way ... huh??

Its not confusing if you actually pay attention to College Football. Lots of teams have used the Co-Coordinator roles, there are just a ton of people on here that think Dabo just came up with it today out of nowhere.

The only thing we don't know is who is actually going to be the "Gameday OC".

Other Stoops was brought in after he got canned as Zona's head coach. The writing was on the wall so Brent got out before he got canned.

Stoops became the actual DC and Brent was the 'co-DC' to save face. Worked out beautifully for us.

Bottom line on game day there is
only one guy thats going to call the
plays.

Dabo is going to oversee everything
but one person will be calling the
plays on a more consistent basis
