Boy, that escalated quickly

Lil bro had a coronary calcium scan a little while back. His score was not great so they scheduled him for a stress test. There was something they didn't like about the stress test, so they scheduled him for a heart catheterization yesterday to go in and take a look. He is now scheduled for open heart quadruple bypass early next week.

At age 48.

So, those Ts and Ps things, gonna need to ask for some of those for him.

Ts and Ps and such.

Luckily, heart issues seem to not be an issue in my house, BUT we got alot of other things to be concerned with.

Doctors found similar in my mothers blood test and she has multiple myeloma (basically blood cancer).

A CT scan of your heart

1

Sep 20, 2023, 9:24 AM [ in reply to So what's this calcium thing? Because every time ]

that looks for calcium deposits in the heart arteries

I would bet 90% of people have calcium deposits

1

Sep 20, 2023, 9:29 AM

in their arteries--its a symptom of being human. I guess it's the amount we have thats important.

I mean if these people had it--I mean people who were very active, routinely ate fish, had no overdoses of sugars..modern folks don't have much a chance to escape it:

May be the first time I've said 'Bigdaddy' in a prayer. Shocking news, but hoping everything turns out ok for your brother.

find out after it's too late. And stuff like that can be hereditary so I'd suggest you get tested if you haven't.

Sep 20, 2023, 9:30 AM

they said my stress test back in March was normal, but I'm having a hard time understanding how that can be. My annual cardiologist appointment is coming in January, but I'm calling today to get it moved up to ASAP. Who's is your doc?

Dr Sharaf

But other than my morning in the cath lab receiving stents, the only test I've ever had is an ecg.

He says there is no reason to stress test me as I do that myself. But I'd love to be run through some tests and get some data.
