Danny and Vince story

Danny was invited to a Clemson club meeting near Columbia when he was in town for the SC high school coaches association meeting...he accepted as long as no media would be present and he showed up...this was around 1988 so on the TV at the function they have a VCR playing of one of last second Clemson wins the previous 2 years against Georgia...as the Treadwell kick draws near the crowd gathers around including Danny to watch the end...kick good...Tigers win and the camera pans to Danny greeting Vince at midfield...so somebody in the crowd yells out to Danny asking what he said to Vince...Danny replies "f u Vince"....he didn't use initials...which brought down the house

My favortite Danny story came to me from a friend

who was a trainer for the team from 84-88. He stated that in 89 in the FSU game in Tally after Chief Osceola threw down the spear at midfield before kickoff, Danny went out in front of our team and spit a big wad of his Chaw T'bacca on it. Team went crazy and stomped them on their home field.
The other was when we played Penn State. Danny made the team get behind him coming out of the tunnel because he wanted to be the first "to see that four eyed son of a b-i-t-c-h". Once again..rallied the team to another big win. Those were the days....kind of like beating LSU..:)
