That was the excuses they were using, but CJ was the exact type of player that the Heisman award describes as a Heisman player!!!

They say lots of things that have no truth, nor any merit. They are to be ignored. That is all!

CJ also wasn't by far the statistically superior player. Ingram and Gerhardt were miles better statistically. And if you want to say stats shouldn't matter it should go to the best player - well then it should have gone to Suh.
CJ didn't win it because while he was a deserving top 10 vote getter, he really didn't put together the kind of season it takes to win.

In 2009 both Spiller and Ingram played 14 games Spiller had - 1212 rushing yards, 12 TDs 503 receiving yards, 4 TDs which is 1715 yards from scrimmage, 16 TDs
Ingram had - 1658 rushing yards, 17 TDs 334 receiving yards, 3 TDs which is 1992 yards from scrimmage, 20 TDs
Ingram had 277 more yards from scrimmage and 4 more TDs, better but not necessarily by miles.
But, Spiller also had - 755 kick return yards, 4 TDs 210 punt return yards, 1 TD which makes 2680 all-purpose yards with 21 total TDs (128 points scored, also had a 2 pt conv)
Ingram had no kick returns and 1 punt return for 0 yards. So he had 1992 APY with 20 total TDs (120 pts)
So you can say Spiller had the better overall stats.

Yep, and the Heisman award meaning is the best all around player that did the most to help his team to win games. CJ Spiller done just that with everything that he did to help his team to score enough points to help his team to win. CJ run the ball, caught the ball, run the ball on kick offs, runn the ball on kicks. CJ Spiller was used in everyway possible that could get the ball in his hands bc he was that type of threat!!!

And, in 2009, CJS also threw 2 passes -- completing one pass for a 17-yard TD.

Spiller, Deshaun Watson, and Trevor Lawrence all good screwed. All should have won the Heisman.

This is why I don't watch the Heisman anymore. I actually quit when Peyton manning got jumped by desmond. But I had high hopes for cj, dw, tl, Watkins, and others.
I assume Spurrier just won't let us in

Spud, they just make up the rules to suit themselves as they go. I’ve lost all respect for the Heisman Trophy. It used to be legit. Now, it’s just a popularity contest with a loaded. ballot box.

If CJ Spiller wasn't a Heisman player by their rules and definition, then has never been a Heisman type player anywhere in college FB, and that is a FACT!!!
