Friday night, did some shopping for some friends' baby shower and ate at Olive Garden for the first time in 15-20 years because my mom gave us a gift card.
Saturday, off to the aforementioned baby shower, the men folk were kindly sequestered over to one side until the gifts were opened. Headed back to my side of town for the local wrasslin' show then home to see Sharkgirl in a bit of a panic about Iran shooting at Israel. I should probably be more concerned about it, but that is for a different place.
Sunday, were supposed to go to Columbia to visit a friend of Sharkgirls but her sciatica flared up and she didn't want to be in a vehicle that long. Turned into a super lazy day.

Bought a bunch of plants from the FFA orgs at Seneca HS and West Oak HS, so planting on sattidy. Borrowed a friends Generac power washer to clean the kaayaks on SUnday but could not get it started (so the kayaks are still dirty).
Watched my 2nd favorite Scheff win the Masters.
9.2/10 (17.48 on the RH Covids scale) with additions for weather and deductions for the power washer not starting.
Did due a gin.

Started at 7 am Friday when I met the team I would be cooking with at the Hub City Hog Fest After setting up our kit, we started brining the wings for Friday night’s event Wind picked up and Channel 7 got a live shot of one of our canopies collapsing during an interview with Kristi Henderson Wings came out right on time for the 6 o’clock turn in and to serve the public 40 lbs of wings were gone in 20 minutes All 37 teams’ 40 lb allotments were gone by 6:40 Started prepping the pork, ribs, & brisket then I slipped home at 10 after putting on the brisket to feed Buster and get a little sleep
Returned at 4am - stopped by Krispy Kream to get a dozen for the team, turns out they reboot their computer at 4 and you have to wait about 5-8 minutes because they don’t know how to sell a dozen glazed without it. Got the butts on and laid out everything for the day
Final results- 1st in ribs 2nd in brisket 4th overall 11th in pork
A great time was had by all
Sunday standard day with mom except we went to Olive Garden for a little variety
See above for meat prawn pigs

1) All meats look fantastic. Standing slow clap. 2) Confidence is leaving your gold Rolex Datejust on during a BBQ competition. 3) How big is the letdown after cooking and eating world class smoked meats for two days and then going to Olive Garden?

Friday, whiskey tasting. Well, it was all the same bottle but I tasted that bottle A LOT.
Saturday, went to see Clemson band Amongst The Trees at the Come See Me Hops In The Park event from 1:00-3:00. Excellent band doing all original jamgrass stuff. Back home to walk the pup and grab a bite to eat, then off to MEDIUM volume acoustic jam. We haven't played in about 3 months because everybody has had busy schedules and man did it show. We were RUSTY. Still, we had a blast as always. Made it home to get in the bed well after midnight.
Sunday, slept in, then extra long hike with the pup around the lake. Made the grocery run, then home to clean up and head to the Neighborhood Theater to see High Fade with Chess Club opening. Chess Club was a strange but cool...just keys and drums and sounded like 70s AM pop radio stuff. High Fade was STELLAR. These cats are phenomenal musicians and could have been the backup band for James Brown as a power trio. They absolutely tore the roof off the sucker with the killer funk. Check these guys out if you get a chance, they're from Edinburgh, UK, so they don't get over here much.
Enough music to make it a perfect 19/19 Covids. Every weekend should be like this.

Also went to Zebulon, NC for a soccer match, that place sucks. Tied 2-2. Won the morning's match at home, 3-2. Other son had to go to Jacksonville, NC to play a couple matches, he said they won one of them 12-2 but he may have been exaggerating. At least they won, my other teams (WTFF Arsenal???) (WTFFF Clemson Baseball???) played like crap.
I am in pain though, glad the wife likes the mulch though, it was TOTALLY worth it.
I would say LOL, but it hurts to laugh.

For serious though, the amount of landscape work I am doing in prep for my daughter’s graduation party next month might kill be before we get there.

in front of my house and carried them to the beds.
My boys did help with the first load of 40, but the smallest wasn't strong enough to carry them.
In hindsight, I thought lugging them around without a wheel barrow would save money, my yard is small and a wheel barrow would only be needed every couple years, but dang that probably would have helped alot.
I had issues with sciatica about 6 months ago, I hope this did not re-aggravate that. I couldn't raise my left leg very high after the last bout.
Getting old sucks.

not sure if people are thinking "scoops" or what, from what I remember 3 yrds per scoop.
It's what it takes, did have a little extra this year because neighbor got too much (25 yrds) and did some of our adjoining beds that I usually do.
Attached pic is start of second day, about 1/3 laid already

I think I see the confusion. A scoop of mulch

Based on my sample size of using 6 or 7 different mulch yards over my home owning years, is one yard. Occasionally you will see them use a smaller loader with a half yard bucket, but that’s rare. If you paid $30-45 per scoop, that was for 1 yard.
So if you got 8 scoops, you got 8 yards. It would almost be physically impossible for 2 people to put out 24 yards in a day.
That pile in that pic looks like 4-5 yards of mulch. The 150 bags I bought equated to around 11 yards of mulch.

I was just floored by the 24 yard stat, especially putting it out in a day. I have an acre with a crap-ton of beds and 24 yards would do it twice and take two full weekends to do.
It’s like hearing that Cub was 7’2” and then discovering that he’s really 6’4”. He’s still tall, he’s just not the giant I was picturing.

I asked if it was OK if I sat down for a minute since my back was already starting to hurt and she was nice enough to say yeah, of course, but you might want to get back so Lowe's doesn't sell out. They were low on supply.
She did help spread the last bag. Afterwards I sat alone in the pollen on the front porch and got a little drunk.

If he got a truck and a half, I would assume it was 10 CY in the truck. So 15 CY total at $25/yd = $375 if delivery was included in price.
My man down the road still does $200 for 10 CY delivered, double ground. But I like that colored mulch much better and the bags are easier to handle so I do that now.

My first time doing bagged and I wont go back.

First it was cheaper on sale at $2/bag. $that was $300 + $79 for Lowe’s to deliver it right to my driveway with a nice gentle forklift and two pallets. Mulch yard now for a yard of double hammered dyed black equivalent mulch is $44 before delivery, and my bag total was 11-ish yards.
But the workload was less too. Scooping the crap off your driveway or out of the truck is like doubling the work only to go spread it back out. I just threw 4 bags in my wheelbarrow at a time, dumped, spread, stuffed bags together and repeat. My driveway isn’t filthy and I’m not gritting my teeth while a dump truck cracks my driveway or making 6 runs with a pickup to the mulch yard and having to detail the #### out of the truck afterwards because it’s so dirty.
Bags 4 life, baby.

Sat - what a day. didn't snap any pics, unfortunately. but we had ~60 people, 20 of whom were kids UNDER THE AGE OF 6. crazy haha. only big crying incident was my 2 year old going full send. busted her lip. put an ice pack on it, and she was back in the game, so no sweat.
35# crawfish, 10# shrimp, 10# taters, 15# sausage, 2 doz ear a corn, 2# shrooms, 4 pineapples, 6 onions, and some good Mississippi dirty water seasoning....shoooo wee it was good
Sun - cleaned up, got nasty w/ the wife, then went back outside to put all my ish up that was drying out (rinsed out pots, coolers, etc.)...and it happened. I was putting my 180 qt cooler back up on my shelf, and my right shoulder went KABOOOOOOM. not really, small pop.
can't lift my right arm. can't pick up kids, put em in carseats, just completely ######.
ice, advil, ice, steak, wine, IPA, bourbon, ice...still killing me.
and to no-one's surprise, our boy Obed® couldn't bring himself to come over to join the riff raff lol

Sharkgirl has been battling a bad shoulder for months now. It has gotten better in that she can buckle her seatbelt without hollering in pain, but it still isn't right. Both of mine just like to kinda lock up on me.

I finally caught my breath after I was done boiling, and looked around...told my buddy - holy friggin sheet man there's a boat load of kids here
our kids will be spoiled. I grew up in a small town with a lot of family friends, and we never had that many consistently over at various parties and what not.
like I told you, much different phases of life haha. it'll keep you young

I used to think he and 19B were the same until the gas stove island incident.

Indeed I have no desire for doxage, but in this case my general social life has been in the dumpster for a few years now between running my biz and trying to be a good family guy that spends time with the fam, hits all their sports, and takes my kid to 10 travel weekends a year.
I’ve told Dawg that this fall when the nest is empty, beer thirty hits for me. Of course we will only have a year or two to enjoy before his kids get old enough for youth sports and he gets to see firsthand just how effectively they eliminate all free time.

Fri - wife goes Girl Scout camping with youngest daughter. I go to local dive bar with buddy that married into Clemson fan, but is now fully orange. Object is to get in 18 of Golden Tee. Got in 36, shot fairly well and enjoyed beers
Sat - shop and clean with oldest daughter, but out the door by 2 while she continues to clean. Head to Tampa for Billy Strings show. See bluegrass wannabees at amazing outdoor bar and have a good Cuban, well, because its Tampa
Party extra hard for tailgating, get a little spun at show, but not too bad. Holy schniedkies Billy Strings is on top of his game. First set was songs about trains, 2nd set songs about animals. Hottest live show I've seen in a few years. Many people commented they were Home Team since I was wearing my Mikey shirt. Trip back to Orlando a piece of cake. 15 year old daughter made no trouble that I am aware of
Sun - golf, and really good Cuban stew. Glad rest of the fam is home. Wish I could do St Auggie Billy again next weekend, but cannot
18.8/19 Covids because could not do BS after parties

Largely unremarkable but got to spend most of the days outside enjoying the weather. Did some yardwork, did the taxes and filed.
Other than having to pay the man, I would repeat repeatedly.

Friday...dinner at Sullivan's with wife of. Daughter-if had first school dance and had to stay up waiting on her to get home from after party.
Saturday...up early for some home chores...some sushi for dinner lunch...then headed to Augusta. Hosted for the night by one of the local counties where my company is building a new factory. Great host house with chef and was treated quite nicely.
Sunday...arrived at Red Carpet tent at 830am...walked in through player gate and saw Tiger and his son. Watched Tiger on the range for a bit then headed out to course. Saw a lot of Tiger. Great morning but man was it crowded. Headed back to Red Carpet tent for brunch and then back to course. Had to leave before leaders started cause had to drive to Greensboro for a morning meeting today. But did get to watch the leaders warm up on the range for a bit. After 20,000 steps for the day I was toast.
Great weekend.

I looked for you on 17, but you weren't there.
I thought I group texts you and JBC, but it only went to JBC and I thought you were just being a dik and not replying. Then I realized when I left the course and looked at my phone on Sunday that you weren't on it.
Was walking around with my CFO and county economic folks and they weren't all that much fun.
