with Clemson suing ACC - - would we want to be in Big 10 or SEC?

So, I am one that thinks that this is inevitable...to leave, etc. - too many dollars behind leaving vs. staying.

So- with that said, who has given it some thought about whether we would want Big10 or SEC?

I would love to be in the southern traditions of the SEC and I really do think we will compete well either way but I honestly think that it would seem to feel like a Big10 destination is in the future -

thoughts? again, I haven't really given a lot of in-depth time to the topic

SEC makes sense culturally and geographically...

B1G makes sense as it expands the conference recruiting footprint and adds another football first school.

I would think B1G as we don't really bring anything to the SEC they don't already have. *Shrugs* But who knows at this point.

B1G also makes sense in severing ties with ESPN.

SEC is a better fit geographically and culturally. Better for our athletes in terms of travel and time spent away from campus. Better for our fans who go to road games.

Big 10 is the better Business move by far

We Clemson grads aspire to see our university be suitable for the B1G.

However, due to the B1G requirements of member institution being those with massive research programs we do not. For that reason I believe it's unlikely we or FSU are the academic wants for the B1G. It's very likely that those wants are abandoned for the money we and FSU would bring to that conference.

We would be academic elite in the SEC. Probably one of three including Vandy and UF. At one time I was proud of being ACC. The academics across the board were second only to the Ivy League. FSU, VT and Louisville ended that.

None of that influences my personal want(s). I do not like northern schools nor am I a fan of the west coast. My preference is Southern for culture which includes aspirations of being the center of the NCAA football world. Nothing else matters to me.

Purely from an academics perspective, adding Stanford, Cal and SMU kind of trumps your academic argument. We now have more Top 100 rated schools than any conference. Louisville is the only school outside the Top 100 in the ACC.
