Stoudt vs Watson vs Team

Having read all of the posts, it's sad there are so many fans wanting to replace Cole. I get it, it's the "I WANT IT NOW!" mentality of our younger generation. We have two great quarterbacks that can lead this team to a very good season if the rest of the team and the fans will support them.

The most important game we will play each year in the regular season will be against Florida State. The more we play Watson early in the season, the more film opponents have to analyze his weaknesses. Maybe, just maybe, the coaches wanted to keep him off the field some until the FS game was over. I think (hope) we will all see some special plays and success when Watson is on the field against FS. From now until the end of the season, I think both quarterbacks will probably play roughly the same ampount of time on the field. I also think you'll see more and more of Watson as the season goes on, but there's nothing wrong with Cole being our starter. They both play the same offense, but there are definitely differences in their style of play.

I have been a Cole supporter since last year. Many games I wondered why the coaches didn't put him in for a few series to change up the dynamics of the game a little. We can play that style of offense this year, changiing quarterbacks to change the pace of the game. The game looks smoother and faster with Watson in the game. That quickness, that split second or two faster on the pass, the run, the sweep will be hard for defenses to adjust to. I think that's one reason Watson has looked good so far this season.

Let the coaches coach and let us back up the team and BOTH quarterbacks. The last three years have been some of the best years at Clemson. SOMEONE on the coaching staff must know what they're doing, and surprisingly enough, they probably made those decisions without all of us armchair quarterbacks pointing out what they should be doing. Just like a great, supportive fan base can help a team to a winning season, a whiney, devisive fan base can cause team issues and losses.

what's sad are those that are having a pity party for cole as if he's a 5 year old getting his feelings hurt playing for the YMCA.

first off we DON'T have two "GREAT" QBs. We have a "decent starter" and a "great phenom backup" that is better than our starter RIGHT NOW.

btw FSU isn't the most important regular season game each year.........it's SCar.

anyways........here's the deal with the QBs........assuming the coaches are RIGHT and Cole is the CLEAR starter, and COLE gives us the best chance to win, blah blah blah. THEN TREAT HIM THAT WAY. I don't want to see our "backup/lesser QB/QB that doesn't give us the best chance to win" in the game @ FSU until the game is out of hand either way.

Dabo IS creating this controversy by not treating cole like a "clear cut starter"........NEITHER QB can get in a groove the way they're flipping them in and out now..............and despite all that watson's still been better.
