Excellent catch. Too bad it's too big (well it looks bigger than the slot). Would have been good blackened tonight.

LOL !!!! Haven't heard the term "bugle mouth bass" in a long time. I used to catch some big ones in my fishing days of yore. Spud's catch looks like a BMB.

Powdersville. He was a big tournament bass fisherman. I had been building up the spottails all the way here. "These things hammer it on top water in the summer. They break you off in the grass. They are beautiful coppper colored...etc.etc." It was late December and cold. We were using small jigs and underspins...Anyway, after several hours and a thousand casts or so...he finally caught maybe a 3 pounder. It was the only fish of the day. He said," Hunh...looks just like a carp". LAST TIME I EVER TOOK HIM.

Two NC state grads were on a S.C. fishing pier

A fisherman in a Clemson hat pulls a fish up, about that size, measures and releases him. They ask, “why did you release that fish”? He said, “doesn’t make slot brother”. They asked, “how big do they have to be to keep in S.C.”?
