Well this is interesting...

Apparently The Citadel wanted to play dirty for the FSU game.

What's more pathetic is the kid apologized for his "comments", not for his actions. He never said he was sorry for hurtin people legs.

I'm an old man who played TE in the '60s. If it wasn't for cut blocks, chop blocks, leg whips and high-low double-teams, I doubt the teams I played on would have won many games. It was football as it was meant to be played - at least in those days.

We also chucked receivers hard coming off the LOS, spear-tackled and threw devastating forearm shivers. It was football.

Nowadays, you might as well put a skirt on everybody - not just the QB.

I don't understand all of the pattycake hand-blocking by the O-lines, either. We were taught to put your guy on the ground, run over him and only then go to the second level.

Of all the blocking we did that is considered nasty today, cut-blocking is about the only one that survives and dagnabbit, that one should never be illegal.

If you look at the block Hot Rod put on the LSU D-lineman on the famous 4th and 16 play, it was a beautiful cut block that allowed Tajh to make that throw to Nuk. Without that cut block, there would have been no win over LSU.

There is nothing wrong with cut blocking. It is part of the game. High low blocking is uncalled for, but usually a high/low is busted assignment, not intentional.

How many FSU injuries were there yesterday?

I saw something about 2 starting DT's being hurt but haven't seen any details.
