either (A) Identify and evaluate potential talent at the High School level, and/or (B) develop said talent.
I don't pretend to know exactly which it is or why, but we have a ton of 4 and 5 star recruits that are getting outplayed by 2 and 3 star recruits. For example, we have THREE 5-star QBs on our team. No other team we played comes even remotely close to that. We have six 4-star WRs, 4 of which were ranked in the top 10 ; few teams we play come anywhere close to that. Yet, we are ranked 70th in the country in passing yds per game, and 7 of our opponnents rank higher than us.
That means somebody is doing a pisspoor job, and not getting acceptable results in a results driven business.
It's like a doctor who doesn't prescribe the right meds or treatments; it's like a financial advisor who loses all of your money, or a gifted students teacher whose students can't pass a college entrance exam. It's people who fail at their jobs.

It is some of both. I think development is the biggest issue.

Trevor and Cade.
The fact that we only have a true freshman as a backup is a big coaching mistake

Most of those transferred.. I do believe Lawrence was an example of our development though but also could be the play calling going downhill after Scott.. but he didn’t improve freshman to junior seemed like.. I believe DJ was just a bust or at least in our system. Maybe a transfer to new scheme and staff would be just as good for him as it would be for Clemson

I understand the frustration, but denying reality is not going to do any good.
It's not just a matter of looking at the stars. It's a matter of how those stars fit within your team.
For example, yes we have a lot of 4 star receivers, but they are all sort of that same 6'2" 210lbs midrange-type receiver. We don't have anyone explosive like Amari Rodgers or Tee Higgins. We don't have anybody who can go up and get jump balls like Mike Williams. We don't have a guy who can always find a seam to get open like Hunter Renfrow. We basically have a team full Deandre Overton-type guys: Pretty good jack-of-all-trades guys, but no difference-makers.
As stated multiple times, Uiagalelei is just the wrong fit for this offense. He needs a system like Georgia, Michigan, Alabama, where they have good offensive lines, so he can just sit back in the pocket and throw.
Why did it end up like this? The elite guys who came here 4-5 years ago are simply going to other schools now. The coaches are going to have to find something new to attract the elite players again.

I thought Dabo could sell ice to an Eskimo.
I thought the indoor slide, nap room, and mini golf course were cool.
What happened?

Other teams adapted. It's an ever-changing situation. It he coaching staff now have to adapt as well. Unfortunately, you can't turn on a dime.

IMO, CJ is the only coach we have who is developing his players to their full potential. O.L. is bad. D.L. is bad. Secondary is clueless. Receivers and DJ look like a crap show. Don't even know why we have tight ends, don't use them. Special teams is a fundamentals disaster.

Jeff Scott made the decision several years ago to target basically just the tall, 50/50 guys. It didn't work. So we actually have adjusted. Antonio Williams this year and the kid from Greenville next year both fit the smaller, quicker guy model we've always had. We still need to hit on some of those 50/50 guys though. Haven't since Ross in 2018

Another factor, besides evaluation and development is scheme. We are a dinosaur. We need to make wholesale changes on the offensive side of the ball.
