I can see where this can divide teammates. Some receive and some don't.

I always think back to the story of Christian Wilkins and what he did with his multiple bank accounts while playing football at Clemson. He found time to breakdown his finances and be responsible with it. Granted it wasn't a million dollars but I like to think he'd still be really responsible and smart about it.

Looking back to when I was 17-20 years old (not nearly as mature as I am now). I still would've got me a decent plot of land with a house and a decent car and figured out how to invest and make that money grow to help my immediate family. But that's me if I was being paid for playing football. I wasn't much of a "let's go out and do ridiculous things" young adult unless somebody dragged me along to it. I was much more of a "imma veg out and play video games, watch horror movies and smoke marijuana" young adult. Giving me a million dollars may or may not have changed me for better or worse at that age, we will never know though. But I like to think most of them are more focused on the bigger picture and the few that get busted seem to misrepresent the majority.

We seem to forget not everyone is the same person or does the same things as the next. Some are smart and responsible. Some aren't. Money either "speaks evil" into someone or it doesn't. One of those conundrums where it is case to case and a lot of unknowns.

Also sorry. I went on a tangent. I need to go to bed.

Now, Bill, that’s not hard to answer……

They are all knowing the next stop is the league in couple years, so the money is being blown on cars, worthless trinkets and impressing babes. Everything any normal college student spends his money on.

The vast majority will have nothing left before they finish college career.

They end up wasting it or getting fleeced by their family and friends and end up broke, just like most of the guys who play in the NFL and other pro sports.
