What don't we know?

Our defense regressed statistically and our offense improved. Who got fired?

I'm not saying hiring Riley over Streeter was a mistake, but as quickly as it happened after the National Championship game leads me to believe things were in motion for sometime before that. Did Streeter get a raw deal? Was he given the reins the way Dabo say Riley was?

Yes, I am stirring the pot, but having done a lot of hiring and firing I'm curious. What were the expectations for Streeter and Goodwin? Will I ever get the answers probably not. That's OK as it isn't my football program thank goodness.

It’s great Dabo hires Riley, it’s strange to me he was the only move. I would have gutted the whole offensive staff and gotten a real DC as well.

May have been the gradual regression over the last 3 years that prompted the move for Riley. Streeter wasn't bringing in his own ideas he was working off a built-up playbook from years ago. Offense was stagnant and lifeless.

Defense on the other hand was still solid just not top 10. I would be willing to bet money if we have the same or worse defensive results as last year we'll have a new DC for 2024

I believe it was a perfect storm for Clemson.

You can say offense improved but our record and the ugliness of those games proves otherwise.

Scott, Elliott, and Venables leaving at basically the same time.
The elite talent at QB and WRs in the past has masked the lack of talent and development on the O Line.
DJ was unable to develop, mentally and physically. That’s on him and Streeter and Dabo. I think Dabo was to the point of calling the plays because Streeter was over his head.
WRs have not been coached and developed as needed for a program like Clemson(WRU).

As for defense, Goodwin seems very knowledgeable but those players were lacking that leadership and meanness that Venables coached. They also need a player willing to get them pumped up and motivated, a Boulware or Sklaski.
