What happened to the ACC

Clemson,FSU,VT,GT, all used to be powerhouses and consistently ranked. Now all that is left is CU and FSU. Even Maryland, NCSU, UVA were decent in the early to mid 2000's. All of these teams were consistently ranked in top 25. BC was pretty good for a short stint there also.(Matt Ryan era) What happened to the ACC????

The ACC has never been much of a football conference.

It's always been run by Tobacco Road and those guys aren't football fans.
I say we leave them behind and take FSU, GT, VT and Miami with us to the Big 12.

eight for years. Eventually being in ACC caught up with them. Brought in VT and Miami to strengthen football, but the conference caught up to it. Instead of having the power football programs elevate the league, unfortunately for Clemson and other football schools in ACC, the league brought them down...at least overall.
There are some shining "Good" wins against other power schools from power conferences, but they are being fewer and far between.
Clemson needs to make changes now and not watch the conference erode around them.
