The point is, who, other than you, has made the distinction that "nobody is calling themselves the Putin wing of the gop" and why is it important. I certainly didn't suggest that anyone was calling themselves that. The quotation marks were because I was quoting prominent conservative Republican Liz Cheney. Certainly not a RINO, as you suggest. That seems to be the new talking point catch all phrase for certain Republicans that aren't conspiracy mongers.
As tabbyplague points out, "there is a certain segment on the right" and "it is really sickening to see the misplaced idolizing of Putin by some." "I find the hypocrisy astounding." "...Putin is not the good guy here." Read it for yourself.

1. You have no idea what I think about the Ukraine/Russia conflict. I am however happy to discuss if you feel so inclined, but I haven’t shared my thoughts here or anywhere else.
2. If you had any reading comprehension ability, you would know I was simply refuting a point by presenting the inverse of another dumb statement. I didn’t proactively come out with any of this. You have poor leadership. Everyone knows it and sees it. So when one side knows the other is corrupt, and if they get in power they're just as corrupt (remember decline), then they just assume the opposite position of the other side regardless if it's right or wrong.
Liberals support Ukraine. OK so then Republicans say Ukraine is corrupt and Putin not that bad.
Remember when, in this very place decades ago now, we debated politics and issues. That is a luxury you have with effective government. You argue about issues and ideology. About how we should operate as a nation. Now we just take sides in personal attacks because there is no substantive solution worthy of rational debate.
You can have your wet dream GOP leadership or your wet dream dem leadership, and both are bad. We want good leadership so bad we can't focus on governing but only on acquiring power and control. That's a death rattle for democracies.
And Putin knows this. Xi knows this. Smart people in Washington know this... The few left there. Americans know this. So liberals lie and there's a deep state/corrupt government. Fine. That doesn't mean anyone opposed to liberals or the corrupt government are any less corrupt themselves. If driving too fast is dangerous on the interstate then surely going 5mph is safe. That's the problem in a nutshell. 5mph is just as dangerous and not the solution or best option. And we're arguing between 5mph or 150mph speed limits.
Meanwhile the highway patrol isn't checking for speeders as they're being paid off to ignore traffic violations. Seriously... There is no speed limit in SC anymore. My Beaufort T Justice post is funny, but the byproduct of poor leadership and corruption is a complete lack of respect for the law.

There is another very large, distinct group of people, many Republicans I suppose, who are reluctant to sock Zelenskyy's cuck and praise him as the latest pop culture hero, while still acknowledging the evil atrocities of Putin and his invading armies. I think it's important not to conflate the two.
For the record, I find Zelenskyy's actions and leadership during this time extremely admirable and heroic. Politicos and their media parrots are working every possible divisive angle of this, while the overriding truth is clear and obvious: One country has, unprovoked, invaded another sovereign nation and is committing war crimes right before our eyes. We can quibble about all of the other BS later; surely we'll get it all solved right here in The Lunge.
