What our offense has really done this year!

Nov 9, 2014, 9:26 PM

Despite a patchwork offensive line with basically a new starting lineup each week. Despite playing with a "back-up QB" for most of the season. Despite having freshmen leading the team in rushing, passing, and receiving, this offense has still had an above average year against relatively tough competition.

For anyone who still wants to bash #18, consider NCAA statistics for the defenses Clemson has played and the Tigers' offensive production in those games. The Tigers have played 5 Top 50 Defenses and 3 Defenses outside of the Top 50, excluding S.C. State. Interestingly, Cole was the primary QB against the 5 above average defenses and DW was the primary QB against the 3 below average defenses.

#6 Louisville avg. 281 yards (Clemson 229)
#11 BC avg 312 yards (Clemson 398)
#21 Georgia avg 336 yards (Clemson 291)
#38 Syracuse avg 354 yards (Clemson 375)
#45 Wake avg 366 yards (Clemson 427)
*****************
#61 FSU avg 389 yards (Clemson 407)
#63 NCS avg 389 yards (Clemson 493)
#121 NC avg 510 yards (Clemson 528)

And if you're wondering: #76 GT avg 413 yards, # 104 SC avg 461 yards
