Where can visitors park on campus?

Apr 12, 2013, 3:44 PM

Was thinking of taking a walk around campus when I get drive up tonight. Never really been in this situation except on gameday. I remember the parking dept being nazi's when I was a student, so I want to make sure I park in the right area.

Is the Ticket Witch still around?

Hopefully she's retired by now, and passed the baton on to the next generation of Ticket Witches.

Not sure if I know who that is. I think I got all my tickets from men. One of my few gripes about clemson is how they handled parking, and also how the police would set up speed traps on campus from time to time.

got a ticket on mcmillan road for going 40 mph on move-out day. yes technically the speed limit is 25, but geez it was move-out day and I wasn't endangering anyone. Ugh!

She was around in the mid-late 80's. And yes I got busted

in one of those speed traps on McMillan Road. One afternoon, sun right in my eyes, couldn't see him until I was right on him. Was running late for a Beta Alpha Psi meeting lol.

Seems like you had to get a visitor's pass from the university parking guys when I was there (1996 - 2005) to park anywhere on campus outside of sporting events. If you don't find anything definitive, it may be worth it to park downtown on College Ave. or wherever and just walk over to campus. The fine when I was there was around $60 for having no pass whatsoever. Who knows what they may do now? Maybe do some searching online. Good luck.

A visitor's pass is a good option.

Also, the employee spaces (teal/green colored) are fair game on the weekends starting at 4:30 on Fridays.

I remember employee spaces being fair game at those times as well, but only if you had some type of campus parking pass (campus resident - purple, commuter - orange, whatever). If you had no pass at all though, you felt the wrath of the ticket witch no matter when or where you parked. Dirty ########.

Well, If you drive a car and they don't know who you are, and you get a ticket, just don't pay it. What are they going to do? hunt you down?

As long as you avoid being towed, you are good in my opinion.

Here are your options.

Apr 13, 2013, 6:58 AM

You can either park somewhere downtown like the parking deck that is free on weekends, get a visitor's pass from the visitor's center, or park in a metered spot in front of hendrix or at Fike.
