what gets me are the needless replays on obvious calls.

The 1:00 NFL game yesterday was laughable for the refs. They called almost no penalties and one team had no penalties in the first half. No football team commits no penalties for an entire half. Considering the importance of these playoff games, you would have thought they would have had their eyes more open. "Letting the play" should not be an option when there are penalties being committed.

WR getting mugged and no PI being called is my pet peeve.

Which happens multiple times every game. In the Jags game

first half, SD DBs were mauling Jag WRs, clearly making contact well before the ball arived, over and over, with no flags. Announcers made totally bullshid excuses like "that's playoff officiating", "Charger DBs are sitting on the Jag WRs", and "they're letting them play", when they should be screaming from the moutaintops "W T F? This mind-blowing incompetence is ruining the game and it must stop!".

100% Ref's in college, and n pro's have fallen in quality, IMO. They depend on the replay booth to make up for lousy officiating. Another annoying thing to me is making some calls, that are obvious and reviews that seem only to serve as a way for officials to get on camera. JMO +1

No one is perfect but the NFL is better than

the NCAA refs. I actually like that the NFL keeps the game moving and doesn't harp on every replay/hit. The game moves quicker and is what it is. I also like the PI rule better...in terms of a spot foul and not 15 yds form the LOS.

But I get what you're saying. College basketball will always be the worst. I know bball is hard to officiate but man its awful at times and arena/situational biases happen way too often.

I'm just the opposite Clem. I like the 15 yard penalty better, otherwise they can heave it downfield and hoping for a game changing PI. The 15 yard penalty makes them earn it rather than having a penalty move them into scoring range. Just my opinion.

What gets me is the conscious decision to ignore certain

rules altogether at times based on totally subjective criteria. Like Holding and Pass Interference in particular; there seems to be no rhyme or reason to what constitutes either, and they are either totally ignored 80 to 90% of the time, or the same exact play could be called either way at different times.

It really screams for an honest explanation or some kind of accountability, because it unfairly affects the outcomes of games every week.
