Looks like FGF over here. Am I hurt by the loss heck yea but to give bulletin board material to the FGF to repost or future recruits to read is not helpful and honestly embarrassing. Lot of posters re-post the stupidity on their boards but turn around and post things just as asinine.

Now to the game. Biggest take away we look SLOW. On a positive note Shipley and Mafah met expectations minus very, very costly TO's. Klubnik looks like a QB with 2 starts under his belt. I am still unsure why the young man did not get in more reps last season realizing he would probably be the next starter and DJ not playing very well?? Feet were a little happy and he failed to step up in the pocket on multiple occasions. I'm sure he will learn from that watching film this week. Where was Randall? where are the TE's? Where was the smothering defense. Why can't the LB's and DB's not shed blocks or cover the back out of the backfield? I am a little shell shocked to be honest as I honestly expected a lop sided Clemson win. We have currently lost 3 of the last 4 with losses to SC and Duke which are not traditionaly very good.

Why pre season rankings mean nothing. Anyone on here think we are even top 20 rught now? Will this be a wake up call or the start of an average season? That I am unsure but there is a lot to get fixed and unfortunately the next 2 games are against teams with no pulse so not sure if that really helps us much. Again in shock but I got up again this morning with air in my lungs and will be cheering these guys on win or lose.

I agree. Just seemed to me the team wasn't ready to play. The play calling was the typical opening game play calling....nothing fancy. I was surprised by all I heard about how the tight ends were going to be involved and nothing but a few passes. Defense looked slow but seemed to wake up some in the second half. A lot of season to go and now I can watch and relax without wondering if they will make the playoffs.

Short answers to some of your questions: Pork Chop has the defense spread so thin, they can never smother anybody. Always out of position and missed tackles galore. Pork Chop has become the Anti-Venables. The WR's are not as advertised. LFT in this entire group. Poor recruiting and coaching. The Oline sucks. It drives the boat and thus far, at least one man has missed a block on virtually every play. You are spot on re: XT and Mascoll. They were a total whiff.

That game was a clear example of one team being well prepared to play and the other not.
It came off like our guys had been assembled as a team the day before the game and Duke had been practicing and preparing all summer.

The talent on offense is clearly there, but clumsy like they had never played a single down together before last night.

I’d rather play Charleston Southern next week than any other ACC opponent. At least we have a chance to find our groove before FSU comes to town
