Who covers cooper this Saturday?

I think it's obvious that the coot game plan is going to be get the ball to cooper as many times and ways possible. He is their only real weapon and with our D front I think we shutdown any attempts to run by Davis and wilds (sp).
I know a lot of people may say put Mackenzie on him and he has been very good this season but IMO he has been burned some and struggles sometimes with a more physical receiver. I don't know a lot about coopers style of play but I think coach V has peters covering him this Saturday. Been highly impressed with #26 all season and think he is our best corner to shut cooper down. Leave Kearse over the top to prevent the big play to not let the coots get any momentum going and we shut them down on offense pretty easily.
What do you think T-net?
Go tigers and beat the chicken $hit out of the ball sac and his coots!!!

Just let Robert Smith lay a clean hit on him the first route he runs across the middle.

dunno, I think Davis and Wilds will get some yards. I do think that the D can make Davis quit if they hit him hard enough and often enough.
Them sum mitches will quit if we can get far enough ahead/frustrate them enough. Would love to see it.
Hate 'em.

Playaction only works if the running game is dangerous

Our front 7 can stop their running game cold imo and in that case. None of SC's WRs are all that talented aside from Cooper. Place Alexander or Peters on him and if need be put a safety over the top

You know that watching the coots as often as I can....I found that they like to run the wildcat up the middle and then break it sharply to the left side..so our defense must be aware of the up and out...At fla they ran that play three times on one drive and it gained yardage each time....But our D should be up to the task...I have become a big fan of defense the past two years, I had always liked a lot of offence, but when our D plays lights out, go tigers, just ask the QZZB of OS. Lets all have a great Thanksgiving weekend....the beginning of another C W streak..........go tigers

When has Mackenzie been burned and it not be due to mismatch (mainly vs GT)? I know he slipped one time in the FSU game, but was pretty shut down the rest of the game...GT, the guy they had him on was 6'5" and he's only 5'10". The QB was practically having to throw perfect high point balls to get around Mackenzie, so I wouldn't call that "burned" as much as just being mismatched due to his height. Scar's receivers are 5'11" (Cooper and his backup both are), 5'7" (Jones), 5'9" (Byrd) and then 6'1" (Rowland, but he is listed 3rd on the depth chart), so you won't really see that same mismatch vs the Gamecocks.
So what other teams burned him? I can't recall it.

Burned may have been the wrong word. More out manned by bigger taller receivers. Like I said I don't know much about cooper but if he is around 6' then Mackenzie shouldn't have any problems.

Struggled w/ physical receivers?

He hasn't struggled w/ anyone....kid's been spectacular.
He and Peter's are why the front 7 can basically be cut loose on the run, we can leave them on an island. There isn't any CB who isn't burned sometimes in that situation...

You are spot on.......the best coverage can begin with our defense up front..D T needs time to get off the long throws, press him...You know, correct me if I am wrong, but it appears that the quick pass gives us problems, but can give all teams a problem. Lt game #4 was very quick in his passing, but when he had to take time for down field routs, he was pressured....D T needs time and will have to move around....Go get him defense....

Smelter is a good WR. Probably going to play on Sunday's. The GT QB was throwing great passes to the back shoulder. Not much I think MA could do unless Coach V puts him in a different pre-snap position. In most of the plays I have seen MA running bump and run he always seems to favor up the field to limit the big play. No one has gotten good YAC on him other than the Green slip.

favorites and has worked against us. Our LB's are going to have be careful with that. They also fake it to him on a hand-off one the left side and hue cuts to the right flat - also effective. Our LBs are going to have to have a good day. WE need to pressure Thompson, but I'll guarantee you they have half a dozen dump-offs and screens they will be ready to use!
