Who To Blame - Football/Baseball

May 27, 2014, 11:00 AM

When an offense stumbles in football, the blame is placed on the Offensive coordinator. Right?

Why when the offense stumbles in BASEBALL, why do we not hang the hitting coach out to dry? We blame the Head Coach.

Why when the defense stumbles in BASEBALL why do we not hang the fielding coach out to dry?

Why is the blame for stumbles in Baseball never placed on the Assistant coach?

no rule by any means, but i see a lot of frustration when

folks see jack playing "small ball".

ultimately the hc is viewed as responsible for the performance of the entire team, coaches included by most i think.

I think Clemson is paying more to those two coordinators than the entire baseball staff.

Simple. The whole world knows our asst football coaches

May 27, 2014, 9:44 PM

Clemson fans don't know our own asst baseball coaches.

It is a good question though. There is an argument to be made that we are much weaker in the asst coach dept than we have been in years past. IMO this is the biggest problem. However, if we get rid of Jack we get a new head coach and most likely, asst coaches.

Your first sentence summed my thinking. After football

season, admittedly, my attention turns to other matters, and I simply don't follow our other programs closely.

Thus, I can understand why a lot of folks will refer to our other HC's in discussions, rather than assistants.
