Whole evaluation of Clemsons current situation

Clemson's main problem causing the gap between them and other teams financially could be attributed to a few factors:

1. Market Size: Clemson is located in a relatively small market compared to some other college football powerhouses. This can limit their potential for generating revenue through local sponsorships, ticket sales, and merchandise. Schools in larger markets may have more opportunities to attract corporate partnerships and secure higher television contracts.

2. Alumni Network: The size and engagement of a school's alumni network can play a significant role in generating financial support for the athletic program. Schools with a large and active alumni base may have more resources and donations to invest in their football program.

3. Historical Success: While Clemson has had recent success in college football, their historical success and brand recognition may not be as strong as some other programs. Schools with a long-standing tradition of success and a strong brand can attract more fans, sponsors, and media attention, leading to increased revenue opportunities. I also believe that this is also a reason why people hate Clemson so much now, and especially from 2015-2019. They hate how we kind of came out of nowhere with only having one national title before 2016. And now apparently “only 3”.

4. Conference Revenue Sharing: The conference a school belongs to can impact their financial standing. Some conferences have more lucrative television contracts and revenue-sharing agreements, which can provide additional financial resources to member schools. Clemson's conference, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), may not have as high of a revenue-sharing structure as other conferences like the Southeastern Conference (SEC) or the Big Ten.

If Clemson wants to stay relevant, moving conferences is imperative. And I pray that the board is doing its best to get out of this awful conference.

5. Facilities and Infrastructure: While Clemson has made significant investments in their facilities in recent years, they may still lag behind some other schools in terms of state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure. Upgrading and expanding facilities can attract top recruits and generate additional revenue through hosting events and attracting more fans.

To bridge the financial gap, Clemson could consider implementing strategies such as:

1. Enhancing Marketing and Branding Efforts: Clemson can invest in marketing and branding initiatives to increase their national visibility and attract more fans and sponsors. This can include social media campaigns, targeted advertising, and partnerships with local and national media outlets.

2. Expanding Corporate Partnerships: Clemson can actively seek out partnerships with local businesses and corporations to secure sponsorships and advertising deals. This can provide additional funding for the athletic program and help bridge the financial gap.

3. Strengthening Alumni Engagement: Clemson can focus on building a strong and engaged alumni network by organizing alumni events, creating mentorship programs, and fostering a sense of community. This can lead to increased donations and support for the football program.

4. Exploring New Revenue Streams: Clemson can explore alternative revenue streams such as hosting more non-football events at their facilities, expanding merchandise sales, and exploring new digital media opportunities.

Embracing NIL Opportunities: With the recent changes in NIL regulations, Clemson can adapt its approach towards NIL and actively support its student-athletes in leveraging their personal brands for financial opportunities. By addressing these factors and implementing strategic initiatives, Clemson can work towards narrowing the financial gap and staying nationally relevant in college football.

Putting it simply, I really do not think things can just “go back” to how they were. There will need to be uncomfortable decisions and changes made to put us in better position.

We got to get back to kicking azzzzzz.

When we did that the brand grew.
Ohhhhh that wasn't at all liked.... because it went against all the narratives the media harped on.
Unfortunately the high dollar powers who's butt we kicked threw more money into influence.....thus the brush off of Clemson's accomplishments and labeled it as a soft fluke at best. Thus comes the NIL.. Expansions and Transfer Portals. Kind of why you have to keep certain things about your program a secret. How is Clemson doing this I remember multiple media heads saying. Next thing you know they're walking around our campus digging for information. They took that information... broadcast it all over.... opposing coaches and programs got a better understanding of it all that Clemson was doing...and just started spinning their new creative narratives. These narratives and business moves have affected college football as we see it now.

If we find a way to win the games we're not supposed to they'll try to figure us out again....but we have to protect whatever brings us success and keep it from getting poisoned and corrupted.
