YIKES.

This is the spot we hit every year when we are hunting. We lost a giant here years ago that was near 13 ft. A couple years later we took an 11-3 from the same area.

Seems like he is lucky to still be here.

Would take my wife and son out on the boat on the Ashley, lake moultrie, cooper. I never got in the water and I sure as hell didn’t let my 3 year old. That’s one reason for me that the upstate is better than the low country bc my family can swim in peace.

Lots of people in the water at Santee, lots of gators in those lakes***

besides Yankees, that is.
They want to avoid you as much as you want to avoid them.

In the Lowcountry, if you want to swim, boat, or water ski, you have to do it in either gator infested water or shark infested water. Or both.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This one seemed to miss the memo on avoiding people.***

that's most often the cause of attacks. Alligators are not aggressive animals at all unless threatened.

Like a deer stuffed away underwater. I know of a case where a wildlife officer was in a boat and the gator attacked.

And it smelled a little fishy, no pun intended. Fossil diving with a screw driver and a gator took you down 50 feet and you lived?

I dunno. Quotes seemed a little outrageous, too.

When we hook an alligator, the first thing they do is dive to the deepest part

of the river. There are about 3 holes in that area about 50 ft deep (it doesn't get much deeper than that anywhere else).

Why no belief?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh, I believe a gator will do that.

Just having a little hard time with the idea that home boy made a round trip with said gator. But I guess so. The version I read was more outrageous sounding than the P&C one.
