Per Barstool, Clemson student ticket listings have exploded

When I was at Clemson in the Tommy Bowden years, you wouldn't have found a single ticket for a game like this. A top ten matchup of undefeated teams in conference, with ESPN GameDay on campus, and a NIGHT Game?!? Students would have literally fought one another for a ticket.

Odd, especially with the better weather projection?

Just people trying to make a dollar it seems.

I agree, students were getting $150-200 per ticket on Tuesday based on my daughters experience and I think that motivated a bunch of students to sell.

Don’t you have to have a student ID to get in…

Sep 29, 2022, 7:50 AM

With a student ticket?

If I understand correctly, it's a lottery system for student tickets now, but you can also transfer tickets from student to student. So if you didn't get a ticket but want to go, you could pay someone else for theirs.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sounds like it's still just students who can used them...

Sep 29, 2022, 8:56 AM

and if their aren't enough to go around, I'm all for a student who wanted to go but didn't get selected to have a chance.

Ian is moving more eastward...

Sep 29, 2022, 8:00 AM

so by game time, the worst of the storm will have moved out of the area. Looks like we're going to get soaked Friday and maybe Saturday morning, but by kickoff, the weather is looking much better.

Show-up and be loud.

Yes, but when we were in school.....what % of students

Sep 29, 2022, 8:01 AM

played some type of organized sports,be it football,basketball,baseball,tennis,soccer....not just in high school, but at least some level. I would say 70 percent. I wonder what it is now? 20%? I cannont imagine NOT being jacked up for a cool weather, night game with a peckerhead coach coming to town.

Students could care less who the coach is because they are not obsessed with negativity.

it's almost like most college students are broke and want to capitalize on the couple hundred dollars they could get from the ticket

out of state kids these days. Those were the kids when i was in school that would sell their tickets for beer money. B/c they could care less. I on the other hand just stayed broke. No way i'm selling my USuCk ticket (that was really the only big money game back then, other than FSU.)

My freshman year in 2013, students were practically fighting each other to get tickets to the UGA game. I camped out for two straight nights on the pavement outside of DV to get those tickets. Students today are just disappointing.

Re: Per Barstool, Clemson student ticket listings have exploded

Sep 29, 2022, 10:47 AM

This is the only home game I missed as a student - I had an academic obligation that I thought I couldn't escape, then by the time I did I could not land a ticket to save my life. I was also the very last student to get a ticket to the FSU game that year after camping out.

Changing the distribution model definitely has something to do with it, because you're going to get more students who aren't as committed to actually attending getting tickets as you did when we were there. But even if it is 100 students trying to sell, that's still a small fraction of the overall number going to the game.

My sister is a junior and she was telling my family last weekend that students were trying to sell their hill tickets for anywhere from 150-300 bucks. Absolute insanity.

I am a current student and have grown up a Clemson fan. The problem with students here now is that they are mainly out of state kids and did not grow up watching clemson play. My dad was on the 81 team so this school means a lot to me and my family, and I wont sell my tickets for anything. But the out of state kids just see the football tickets as a money making opportunnity rather than memory making opportunities. It's sad.
