Two reasons, mainly.
1) As a child, my grandmother(mother's side) gave me a Clemson hat. I didn't really care about football from a fan standpoint during that time. I wore it to my grandmothers (fathers side) during Thanksgiving or shortly after. An uncle (game ####) said he would cut me if he had his knife on him for wearing that hat. Now, I know as I knew then that he wouldn't. The fact that he said though stuck with me. I noticed how badly it bothered him and others of my father's family for me to wear that hat. I wore that hat and many more years after, because of that comment. I later started going to games here and there, then attended Clemson later. Thanks unk!

2) I can't remember if this was before or after that event, but I was invited to go to a South Carolina vs Furman game as part of the youth group at church. I went, but was pulling for Furman. The PASTOR that organized it threatened to throw me over the side of the stands for puling for Furman. The PASTOR! Again, I knew he was joking...at least I hope he was, but it just gave me more fuel to never be a sakarolina fan.

3) Well, I said two but the third goes without saying. They are them, and we are us. There is no other reason really.
